  1. Papelbon looks like a total d-bag in that picture. You know the type, the guys that wear sunglasses, golden chains and s***** cologne to night clubs. Basically your typical Eurotrash metrosexual.
  2. Either that or his wife wears the pants in the relationship and he listens to everything she says. Kind of sounds like how another superstar got in NY in the first place...
  3. Haha this might be like the thing when the Adrian Gonzalez trade "fell through" which upset everyone for about a day before people found out that it in fact went through.
  4. I doubt he sounded any dumber than John Lackey did. He sounded like if Ray Romano and George Bush had a kid. (Also from Texas)
  5. I'm not saying that you had a bad team or anything Jbay. It doesn't help that you're going against the team that I put 1st in the power rankings, and I'm not ripping on Tebow and Blount as players (although I hate Tebow and UF) but I don't think they were wise bench choices for your team, especially with your 2 backs already. I liked your team, but I had put it on the outside looking in on the top 4, right with YH's team. I'll say though, that Pouncey pick has looked better and better.
  6. I really don't care about Martin one way or the other. I don't think we need him, but it's not the end of the world if we get him or if the Yankees get him. As long as signing Martin doesn't prevent us from getting the multiple bullpen arms that we need more. Then I won't care what we do with Martin.
  7. Who said anything about just one? I think we should get them both.
  8. The Red Sox made an offer to Matt Guerrier. I don't know what it is, but I'd love it if we get him and one other reliever (hopefully Fuentes).
  9. And the Spurs win too. Now I'd need GS to knock off Miami and I'd be 3/3.
  10. Yeah, Lakers lose. One game down, one more to go.
  11. Yeah, now it's 4 pts with 14.9 left.
  12. Wow, the Bulls were up 12 with around 4 minutes left on the Lakers, and the Lakers scored 8 straight and now it's a 4 pt lead with 1:15 left. Beat LA!
  13. Or splooge all over their computer.
  14. Although I would have bet my house that you and Kilo would always vote the same way.
  15. While I don't agree with some of that, or a lot (or even most) to be honest, I nonetheless appreciate your effort in explaining your reasoning. I'd be lying if I didn't say that I was incredibly surprised with how this thread has turned out to this point, but if someone is going to vote, I'd much rather them explain their thought process than posting one liners. I wasn't aware that being a moderator had its benefits in the redraft contests.
  16. Don't worry about it. When does the voting expire anyway?
  17. And with Palodios point, I think that Olivo would drop bombs over/off the Green Monster. Not to mention that from what I've read, he's better at throwing out baserunners than Martin, and he was cheaper. The cheaper doesn't sound like a big deal, but since the Sox signed 2 big contracts and are inching towards the salary cap, the cheaper might be of some importance.
  18. We got some good games coming up tonight.
  19. Just because one isn't on that list, doesn't mean that he won't end up with the team. For example, there are a bunch of relievers that are potentially available via trade that weren't mentioned that could very well be on the Sox. Granted, I didn't want Jenks (or Gregg for that matter) so that particular aspect doesn't bother me. Get me Fuentes and either Guerrier/Crain and I'll hibernate for a couple of months.
  20. Plus it's not like Texas is that far from Arkansas, and Arkansas is a fly over state anyway.
  21. It was obviously from before Downs signed. I just hope that Theo gets 2 good relivers. Signing, trading, I don't care. We need 2 good relievers and we can call it an offseason. Maybe Martin too, but I don't really care about that.
  22. From rotoworld: Red Sox GM Theo Epstein expects to sign a reliever soon, perhaps within the next week. Scott Downs, Matt Guerrier, Jesse Crain, Brian Fuentes and Kevin Gregg are all options for the Red Sox. "The bullpen remains a priority," Epstein said. "That market has seemed like it was on the verge of really moving for the past two or three days... It hasn't quite yet, so we're still involved with a number of relievers through free agency and a couple through trade."
  23. I'm just glad that something was happening, because I was getting bored. All of this "not signing" that was going on for the past 24 hours was killing me. It meant that I had to continually talk to you guys until someone else signed.
  24. Yeah, as far as I can recall, I never wanted to pistol-whip Meh with a 2x4. Gom made me angrier than a pervert with cerebral palsy who's trying to draw boobs on an Etch a Sketch.
