  3. Don't worry about it, I didn't mean to come off as an ass either.
  4. For a few reasons, which I thought had already been mentioned in the thread. First, it can f*** with the Red Sox's "need" for Martin (emphasis on the quotation marks since people here want him more than I do) and it won't cost much money. In addition, the Yankees will likely let Posada go after next year so the catcher flexibility and money would be available. In addition, if the Yankees somehow don't get Lee, they can trade Montero for a front line starter which would then make Russell Martin the starter. Russell Martin is more of an insurance policy (and a f*** you Boston policy) than anything else.
  5. It seems like it'd be a backup move in case Lee doesn't sign with the Yankees, so the Yankees can dangle Montero out there and pick up a front line starter that way.
  6. It looks like the Rangers are going hard after Adrian Beltre. This is both good news and bad news because it would make it really likely that Cliff Lee signs with the Yankees, but it would give the Red Sox the 26th overall pick and a high supplemental as well.
  7. By that logic, he should sign with the Giants. Lincecum, Cain, Lee, and Sanchez.
  8. What should I do? Should I make things go back to what they were? Should I accept my role as the villain? Should I just....disappear?
  9. I had Y228 and Kilo in my top 4. Granted, if there was a 5th or 6th place consolation game, I'd have given it to you. In my opinion there were only 4 teams that could reasonably argue that they had a top team in the league, and they are the 4 teams remaning. I had Jbay's team and your team as the next 2 outside of the top 4.
  10. I also like how both 3-4 teams are facing each other and both 4-3 teams are facing each other. That might make it a bit easier to compare them this round.
  11. The final 4 teams left were the top 4 teams in my opinion.
  12. I said the thread was useless, not you as a poster.
  13. I agree, however I wouldn't have made a thread about it considering the offseason is so young. If it was March and we still hadn't signed any relievers, then maybe the thread would have been useful.
  14. I'm going to let your misguided post slide because I don't know you too well, however, despite the fact that I am a lot of things, snarky, arrogant, confrontational, fat...etc, one thing that cannot possibly describe me is the term "bandwagoner". Not only does that have absolutely nothing to do with ripping on Jacko, but I'd like to meet a bandwagon Jaguars or Flyers fan. That said, one cannot refer to the Red Sox fanbase as "you Sox fans" without people assuming that you are not a part of it.
  15. We all bash Jacksonian, even other Yankee fans.
  16. So the loss of Moss did have a negative effect on the offense.
  17. Yankees fan? I guess that your original post makes more sense now knowing that you aren't a Sox fan.
  18. Looks like Emmz is getting double/triple teamed here. And for once she isn't enjoying it.
  19. If I recall correctly, before the trade we were a few spots above dead center in terms of prospect rankings (with the Yankees a few spots behind us) so I'd imagine we'd fall quite a few places after the trade. That said, I think we'd rise back up and then some after the draft, so as long as we can sign Adrian Gonzalez to a long term deal, then I think that it'll be worth it.
  20. I think that we'll rise quite a bit after this years draft though. Not only is it said to be a deep draft, but we have a lot of picks and Theo loves the high cieling guys.
  21. I highly doubt that we go the rest of the offseason without signing at least 1 good reliever.
  22. I didn't say that I believed him, or that it meant anything, but I read it somewhere, around the same time I read what CoachC posted, I saw it sometime a few hours ago.
  23. I also read somewhere that Ron Washington was leaning towards Cliff Lee returning next season, probably from the same source about the Yankee executive.
