  1. For f***'s sake... you'd think big league players would have some semblance of base running ability
  2. Beckett is awesome... now score some f***ing runs!!!
  3. Strikeout!!! Sit your ass down Smoak!
  4. I'd rather see Miller, Weiland, et al from Pawtucket pitch out the remainder of the year than see Livan Hernandez in a Sox uni. At least they have a chance at pitching well enough to stick around into the 5th or 6th inning. Livan Hernandez couldn't hack an entire season with the Twins in a relatively weak AL Central division... what makes you think he'd survive two months in the AL East?
  5. I would give up a solid package of prospects to get Billingsley... he's the real deal and would guarantee we'd be able to match up if not exceed the rotation of any team we'd face going forward. Edit: Nevermind... I was thinking of Kershaw, not Billingsley. I'd make the trade for him, but not if it costs us a ridiculous amount to do it.
  6. While I certainly would be upset to see the Sox overreact and give away a top level prospect for Beltran, I wouldn't be at all opposed to putting together a big package to get Hunter Pence. You don't trade away blue chip prospects for veteran players who's best years are behind them, but to get a guy in his prime like Pence, it's something to consider. A package consisting of Iglesias, Reddick, Weiland/Doubront, and another mid-level guy would be where I'd start. It would dent our farm system for sure, but we'd still have Renaudo and Kalish waiting in the wings, and given Theo's excellence in stockpiling draft picks and finding really good players throughout the draft I'd be willing to do it to get a guy like Pence in the fold. I can only imagine how awesome our offense would be with Pence in RF... he would be a monster in Fenway IMO
  7. Bingo. Combined with a better approach at the plate and having a guy like AGod to watch everyday and emulate.
  8. There is no way in hell that Theo will give up "one or two of our best prospects" for Beltran. Whoever gets Beltran only has him for 3 months and a playoff run, afterwhich arb can't be offered, which means no prospects back for him signing elsewhere in the off-season. Combined with his age and injury history, the Mets will be lucky to get a good prospect back in return, even if they eat money in the deal. If a team wants to give a top level prospect, the Mets should and will run for the hills after signing off on the deal in record time. The Sox are not stupid or desperate enough to make that move. Perhaps the Giants or the Phillies are. In the end, if Theo really wants Beltran I expect the Sox will send 4th OF type like Reddick or a back end starter like Weiland plus cash to the Mets to get the deal done.
  9. AGod is 2-2... so much for the slump
  10. Didn't hear it, but doesn't surprise me. It looked like he had a slightly difference stance at the start of the year... didn't think much of it then, but it makes sense now.
  11. Perhaps. I'd say that he might have one start left after this one, with Buch out until God knows when. Weiland has options after all.
  12. No s***. With Kelly gone to SD for AGod, Renaudo is pretty much our best pitching prospect right now. No way he gets traded for two months of Beltran. I'm thinking Reddick + minor amount of cash gets the deal done.
  13. I agree. Annihilating the farm for a front end starter just doesn't make sense right now unless were getting King Felix. Sticking with internal options for the time being until we get healthy and then maybe adding a guy at the waiver deadline to pick up some starts is the most likely course of action.
  14. If there's one thing I hate to see, it's two out walks. Especially when we're playing s*** teams like the Orioles... just throw f***ing strikes and make them hit it.
  15. Great... just f***ing great
  16. Holy s***... stepped out for a bit to grab a bite to eat and we score 8 runs. This team is so f***ing awesome
