    My wife used to like the Yankees before I met her, but she's from South Africa so she really didn't know what the f*** she was doing. Suffice it to say she's up to speed now. She knows she'd be out the f***ing door in two seconds flat if she ever proclaimed any fondness for the Yanks... established those ground rules on day one.

    The Herald is reporting that the Sox called the deal off because they weren't sure Harden could make enough starts this season to make it a worthwhile deal. Saw something in his Med file they didn't like.

    I'm really beginning to wonder what the hold up could be... Harden is playing on a 1 year, $1.5 million deal. Money isn't an issue. He doesn't have a no trade clause or 10-5 rights. It almost has to be the PTBNL. Perhaps the A's are wanting somebody the Sox don't want to give up and they're playing hardball for a bit, sort of like the Rockies did earlier tonight. I don't know. Either way, we should know by morning I think... no reason to drag it out if it's dead

    I get that... really I do... no need to keep bringing it up. The deal could possibly still go through... anything's possible up to 4pm tomorrow. I'm not thinking we won't get anything done with anyone. But at this point I'm beginning to question whether I really want it to or not. Harden's comments really don't sound like a guy that's excited to come pitch in a pennant race. And if that's the case, I don't want him.

    Given what Felix has proven himself to be at the big league level, I'd probably be okay with that kind of exodus in our farm system to get him.

    Well that was fun... all of two hours or so hoping Harden would be the guy that could settle things down in our rotation. Time to move on.

    Somehow I wouldn't be surprised if that's how it plays out. Something tells me he really isn't a fan of the Sox and wants no part of playing for us.

    A King Felix trade would undoubtedly have to start with Renaudo and have Middlebrooks, Lavarnway, Weiland, and probably one of our low level prospects with definite potential. In other words, we'd have to clear the deck to make it happen. Something I'd be perfectly fine with if it actually came together.
