  1. No, but people kept saying "just wait until they come back." Wait for what? Three injured guys working on reduced innings and potentially reduced effectiveness for a few weeks? Fun!
  2. Prior to yesterday, people were saying "he's looking so great right now." (1.50 ERA, 1.93 FIP 8/1 - 8/15) One bad game and he's toast again.
  3. Foolish! They are wasting his prime years!!!!
  4. I thought moon's point was that they drafted so many that they could move them off position? You draft an athletic SS and that guy (for example Antonio Anderson) becomes a 3B early on in MiLB. The people that rant about "they drafted so many SS's" will never get the point anyway. They drafted Blaze Jordan as a 3B and if he gets to MLB it most likely won't be at that position.
  5. How do they get to the cusp of a WS without adding pitching? It can't all be done via FA.
  6. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=yamamo004yos The MLB club that eventually signs Yamamoto would need to pay the Buffaloes a fee that is equal to 20% of the contract's first $25MM, plus 17.5% of the next $25MM and 15% of any dollars committed thereafter. He turned 25 yesterday.
  7. I'm saying that's "a plan" not "my plan." Someone suggested that Devers has to move to 1B and that's one way to do it.
  8. Yorke? Announced as a 2B Mayer Romero Coffey Meidroth Anderson Nazzan Campbell Riemer All top 5 round guys announced as SS.
  9. Who knows when the team is run like a used car lot?
  10. It's better than the habit some have of making s*** up.
  11. You're not the reason the Sox are playing LOSER BASEBALL. Hoping for injured players to come back and be miraculously 100% was a fool's errand. Seemed obvious to me, which is why I wanted to ____ at the ________.
  12. I evaluated it based on his current production and you didn't like it.
  13. It's all conjecture on our part.
  14. Ok, then all I could say is we'd throw out Mookie's LAD numbers and I would just rather have the consistency of Mookie in RF through 2030 than whatever is going to be there. I think I'd bet on future HOF Mookie over Verdugo/Renfroe/Roman Anthony/whatever other player the Sox are going to post at that position in the next few years. I think it's good for the Red Sox to have franchise players. I think Mookie would have been great for the Sox long term as an ambassador for both the organization and the game of baseball.
  15. Because every other team wants that pitching too. The Cardinals GM said: ""Realistically, we know we have to add three starters this offseason. We know we have to add depth. We went into the season thinking that we would have that covered. It didn't work out that way. Having a repeat of that would not be in the best interest of the franchise. So I think our approach is going to be very aggressive on the pitching side. We'll see where it takes us."" The Sox aren't the only team looking for pitching.
  16. Trade Casas for a good starting pitcher if you believe you can't develop pitching AND you need to move Devers to 1b.
  17. A lot of copium in this thread.
  18. Let me play devil's advocate and say that you did say that.
  19. 2023 rehab starts: 4 2022 rehab starts: 4 2021 rehab starts: 4 But they rushed him back this year!!!!
  20. You said they rushed him back and he needed more rehab starts. They couldn't legally give him more starts or move him any slower!
  21. Bloom "should" be the type of guy to run a farm plus have a franchise player (or two) on max deals.
  22. Sox already signed a 30M player in Raffy and he's not outcompeting Mookie.
