  1. For sure. I just think the player comparisons can be silly sometimes because of the quirkiness of the stats.
  2. Refsnyder has been very good this year, but his power isn't to RF. He's pull heavy.
  3. Casas now hitting 380 since coming back. Don't feel like calculating midgame OPS.
  4. I'm not sure Soriano should be in the HOF.
  5. There's only been 3 consistent female posters in my time on here. We'd have to pay them to come back.
  6. Duran CF Abreu RF Casas 1B Devers 3B Refsnyder LF Yoshida - DH Wong C Hamilton 2b Rafaela SS
  7. @SoxNotes Through 125 team games, Jarren Duran has 153 hits, 68 XBH, and 31 stolen bases. He is the only Red Sox player ever with 30+ steals, 65+ XBH, and 150+ hits through 125 games. The last players to do that were Alfonso Soriano (2002), Alex Rodriguez (1998), and Willie Mays (1957). These kinds of stats can be meaningless sometimes, but this is a little interesting.
  8. An All Star, Gold Glove 1B who had 213 hits in his first year here. 2011 - 2016: AGon bWAR > Rizzo bWAR
  9. If they had signed Mookie, they could have let Xander walk and traded Devers. The team would probably be better off for it. And I'm the Devers guy!
  10. A CY that could earn an MVP too or no?
  11. Well, let's just keep making the site better rather than just "don't be as bad as you were in 2012 when the mods probably wanted to celebrate July 4th by blowing up the server and finding a better hobby."
  12. Oh, that makes a little more sense then!
  13. There were a few years there where it was really toxic. One banned poster would create a new account, post normal for a few days, then get wasted and spam inboxes with porn and gore. The fights were nonstop and about the dumbest stuff ever. People made everything personal. Way worse than the current drama we tend to get on here. The pedo accusations were leveled at one former poster and that guy ghosted the site. I'm not going to get into it. The site was great and horrible all at once. There were a few times I took extended breaks from the site because of how bad it got.
  14. Anthony has the ceiling of an MVP candidate. That's a trade you could regret for decades IMO.
  15. I don't remember hearing that?
  16. 1b? None of those guys should be at 1b. Even Romy at 1b lost them a game this year. Story is 6'2", but too athletic to be left at 1b. At worst, you'd move Story to 3b.
  17. 100%. I saw someone complain that Devers was hitting .240 with runners in scoring position. However, his OPS is 844! Yeah, that's lower than his normal OPS, but still decent enough. OBP with runners in scoring position: 373 OBP total: 377
  18. The history has typically been that profane language has been accepted as long as it wasn't harmful or directed at another person (f slur towards another poster for example). Jbay, you may remember previously banned posters that went over the top with bad nicknames towards players and other posters (pollyannas), especially during the miserable 2012 season. That year was pretty horrible on here. Just a mix of negativity and some posters treating others poorly. Whatever we can do to not let it get back to there, I'm good with. Politics should for sure not be allowed. That's a redline.
  19. Mayer's very valuable right now. With the amount of injuries he has had, there is risk he could get a serious injury or that his value decreases as the injuries continue. Also, Sox clearly need pitching and Mayer is a way to get some. He's yet another LHB and not the highest defensive ceiling at SS. He's a solid player, but not projected to be an All Star on an annual basis. Campbell, I wouldn't trade. He's a RHB and can play all over the field, but they need to figure out where to stick him fulltime (unless they want him to just be a weird UTIL type guy). Campbell has also had offensive results that we haven't seen out of Mayer.
