    WMB has been playing more than once every 3 days. Check the game log. He started 4 out of the previous 5 games.

    EH, Aces: Halladay, CC, Lincecum, Weaver, Kershaw, Peavy, Price, Felix, Hammels, Verlander, Strasburg, Cain, Cliff Lee Near Aces (could be our #1): Sale, Morrow, Gio, CJ Wilson, Garza, Bumgamer, Hellickson, Greinke, Haren Clearly, there aren't enough to go around, but with this payroll, the Sox should have at least one of the above guys. Granted, I was blessed with being able to watch Roger and Pedro, but our SP would be much better off if we had one of the above guys.

    Well, it's not that they decide to pitch a CG, but that they aren't butthurt if a bullpen doesn't bail them out or if they get bad breaks. I also don't think it's the only measure of an ace. Think back when Pedro was here, he called the Yankees his daddy when they beat him. He threw at Einar Diaz when he wanted to. What Sox pitcher now takes control of the plate by brushing back hitters? Can't think of any. What pitcher says "this loss is on me?" Beckett says that once in a while. They just haven't had that guy since 04.

    No because the proof to me is in Lester's whining. Ignoring any impact mental makeup may have seems just as foolhardy to me. Why do some players pitch better in small markets? Why do some relievers pitch great as setup men, but falter in the 9th? I don't claim to know the makeup of any pitcher, but I do think personality and (for the lack of a better word) toughness, play a role in a player's performance.

    Re: Toughness I just don't think some pitchers have the mental makeup to say "we're sucking right now, I'm throwing a CG and putting this on my back." Whereas Lester just complains that he didn't get the right breaks (pitch a CG and you don't worry about things breaking the right or wrong way). Pedro wouldn't have moped after a start the way Lester does. I'm not sure if Buch has the ability to say "screw it, we're winning tonight and it's all on me." We'll see what his next start is like.

    I thought he'd be a problem this year. To me, he's been on good behavior. He's not the rabble rouser (sp?) that I was expecting. I don't have an issue with him complaining about balls and strikes. Everyone else does it.

    It would be great if Buch broke out. He has the stuff, but being an ace takes mental toughness too. We'll see how it goes.

    If you can't understand the difference between a personal attack (which you started) and talking about the Sox, I'm sorry for you. Furthermore, you stated that only public companies have shareholders which is not true as privately held companies can also have shareholders. As I don't know how the ownership structure of the Sox was formed, they may not have shares. However, you ripping me personally about not being licensed (yet) is ********. I've busted my ass studying for the exams. If I don't pass, so be it, but for you to rip me over it is just as immature as my response.

    The reason it was likely called a ball was Salty set up on the otherside of the plate. He had to reach back over to catch both pitches. Still shoild be a strike though.
