You can sell me on Dempster working out, but there's no chance that Lohse would be fine. Lohse wouldn't be an upgrade over Doubront. He's just not worth it. I'm surprised Bourn is still around though. What is he hoping to make?

If Lohse was a good pitcher, he'd be worth the pick and $10M. Unfortunately for him, he's not. Do you really want Brad Penny part II? Putting 2 NL pitchers in this rotation would sink the season.

1. They never "got rid of" Bill James. He's been on the payroll since 03. 2. Hoyer didn't leave until Oct 09. Where is all this "all downhill since 07" nonsense coming from? You can make a case that it's been downhill since the end of 09, but anything else is pushing it. 2008 was a solid year. Most posters would give their left nut to have a repeat of 09 rather than 12...

If the Sox had lost to the Guardians in 07, would everyone be pissing and moaning about a Sox decline since 05? While they didn't win in 08, it was a great year. Stop pissing on it just because they didn't win a ring. If the only thing that makes you happy is a WS win, you're a pretty s***** fan, imo.

CERA is more important than throwing out runners. Tek was one of the greatest Sox catchers of all time (second to Fisk). The flack he got on here was from people who think they know more about the game than they actually do. I'd take 2011 Tek over any of the options we have this year.
