  1. Yes, because no collisions ever happen to a CF'r...
  2. Good recap.
  3. You know that's not really going to change much around here. The only thing that increases during the season is bannings.
  4. C'mon, Fred has said that anything less than an ALE Title or ALCS pennant is a failure. A simple WC berth is a failure to him. He's said it over and over again... Now go spin that and backup your bud again...
  5. Workman is projected to wind up relieving, no?
  6. Personally, if Lester was pitching to Sabbathia's level and leading the staff, people would be less worried. When the #1 and 2 SP's had ERA's well above 4 last year, it leaves cause for concern. If that top of the staff could pitch to our previous expectations, it wouldn't be an issue at all. This team doesn't seem to be good enough right now to worry about the #5 SP. There are more pressing organizational needs. This team won't miss the playoffs just because they didn't have solid 6-8 options (though I'd be psyched to have Webster fill in as the 6th guy when needed).
  7. Not to worry, they have Steven Wright!
  8. Yeah, I find it interesting that there's more hype to "he'll stick at SS" this year which just so happened to correspond to Iglesias falling out of favor. Could he play SS? I guess, but it seems like he'll most likely move on to another position.
  9. Dude, you don't know jack about the DR per my wikipedia search!
  10. SCM, do you have a case of Xandermania?
  11. Apparently to you, the something worth cheering for is the pretty lights on the scoreboard... That's ok, my cats think the same thing when they see a laser pointer.
  12. At least give him the chance before writing him off. There's no harm in doing so. emoticons
  13. Jung, they can bring him up on April 1. If he hits a wall, option him back to Pawtucket for 20 days (in effect, this is the same as holding him down for a few weeks and doesn't have a "downstream hit"). If he shows he's ready, even better. If he's worthy of a big contract in 2018, good for him. Why worry about that now?
  14. The media didn't cost us Manny. Him being an a-hole and pushing senior citizens over cost us Manny. Tito wanted him out the door long before 2008. The media didn't cost us Youk. Signing BV did. The media didn't cost us Tim Thomas. Tukkaa and age did. Thomas realized that he was going to be traded once Rask surpassed him on the depth chart. He left on his own terms. Anyway, point being, the media isn't some big scary monster hiding in athletes' closets...
  15. Also, they're talking about bringing JBJ up before 4/12? Color me unsurprised...
  16. Linares is a DH. His defense is poor. He's probably 7th in the OF depth chart. It'd be a nice story, just is unlikely imo.
  17. It's ST, pitchers overuse their offspeed stuff because it's only practice and they work kn all their pitches. This isn't new. This isn't some dramatic swing in pitching philosophy.
  18. If they thought Iggy could hit .240, they wouldn't have signed Drew. I really hope he can show a bit more at the plate.
  19. I think he's just saying they have to hold onto Aceves until Webster is ready or Morales is healthy. Not sure he was upset about Webster being sent to AAA.
  20. It's ST. It's the right time for him to mess around with his changeup. It's about working on your pitches since it's only practice.
  21. It's a "public" forum. If you don't want people butting in, take it to pm.
  22. The irony, it burns!
  23. But you can't bring up Vazquez before April 12th! You'll lose a year of service time!
