    It's not like baseball, hockey players mature faster. Stamkos didn't need 4 years to learn to score. He's fast, but not a first line winger and will be highly overpaid the next few years. If you can't score at 21, you aren't scoring at 25. He didn't fit Boston's playing style and did jack s*** in the playoffs.

    Butterfield getting Ortiz thrown out by 5 ft was totally unacceptable. I can see trying to push it with Vic, but not Papi. You just can't get risky with the team's best hitter like that.

    Is that a compliment towards Salty??? I think the world is about to end folks... I'd include Victorino as a mild surprise as I didn't expect him to last hitting 2nd. Uehara has also been fantastic. Lester has been a huge disappointment lately. If he can't fix his issues, this team has no chance in the playoffs.

    Easier to trade for a set up guy or 2nd tier closer than blow some prospects on an overpaid closer like Paps. But most of us have been saying this for a long time now.
