    If there was no DH and Papi had to play 1b everyday, he would have retired years ago. The DH helped him extend his career, but now his body is telling him it's time to give it up. Why else would he make a retirement announcement prior to the season? Offer him double the salary, but don't be mad if he doesn't accept it.

    A blockbuster trade with a garbage NL West team will not fix this team. Moving Devers for that would be a waste. The Pads just ripped their whole team, including Shields. You could get Shields for a substantial discount right now. Could probably deal Kelly and Owens straight up for him if you take his entire contract.

    The best sport to watch in person is the NHL. Baseball is the best sport to have on the radio while you are grilling or doing yard work.
