  1. Lucas Sims '22 9.45 ERA, 5.87 xFIP '23 3.10 ERA, 5.53 xFIP '24 4.38 ERA, 5.33 xFIP '25 13.86 ERA, 7.69 xFIP This is a guy we're trading for and relying on for meaningful innings? Paxton hadn't been able to stay healthy. That he dropped dead after signing here was the least surprising thing ever. Sox couldn't trade him in '23 because he got injured before the deadline. It's like relying on a Cybertruck to take you on the Oregon Trail. Garcia was a low leverage guy and had some bad luck. Jansen was a backup catcher with a waning bat. These are four guys that aren't going to light a fire under your team and push you through a stretch run. They are the definition of mediocre.
  2. Yeah, thanks for trying! Great job out there! Everyone gets a trophy now! 🏆👨‍💼
  3. Campbell has a 794 OPS in AAA right now. Can't say that's good enough to demand a callup with his horrid defense. Mayer was called up because he's a good defender and the Sox had a defensive need. Abraham Toro was hitting 883 in AAA this season. Until Campbell can clear that mark, he can stay down there and work on his terrible defense.
  4. Got hurt by bad defense. Guess you didn't watch?
  5. Mookie used to let a lot of middle middle strikes go by at times too. Roman has always had a very patient approach. He'll figure it out.
  6. YES! He has games started incentives in his contract. Games Started $500,000 each for 20, 22, 24, 26, 28
  7. Top 3? He has the same SB% as Sal Frelick in 25. Worse than Josh Naylor in 24-25. We did see him and his dumb oven mitt come off the bag this series.
  8. Garcia and Campbell should spend the remainder of '25 in AAA mashing and working on defense. No reason to force them into part time positions and potentially struggle down the stretch.
  9. He's over the 1st CBT right now. I think he was over the 2nd with Devers. We'll see how it shakes out next year with all the $$$ coming off the books. To me, winning is more important than payroll and 20, 22-24 were no fun.
  10. No path forward when there’s a gaping hole at 1b… Also, nobody knows what this team will look like in 2 years. Injuries and production could derail any career.
  11. We're not always right, but we were definitely right then. Were right before he signed with KC too. Not sure why they didn't like him?
  12. Truly? Teddy Ballgame had a 921 OPS vs LHP in '39. He wasn't going to be platooned after that.
  13. If Rafaela just stopped swinging at sliders 2 ft out of the zone, it'd improve his chase rate. Does that fundamentally change his approach? Seems like it's a question of pitch recognition instead.
  14. Lucky to get a good 2 weeks!
  15. Abreu's seemed egregious to me. Next offseason, I don't want to hear much about ZiPS. It has as much value as BTV. It can be a fun little tool, but it's not an argument in and of itself.
  16. Alcala didn't clear waivers, claimed by Bloom and the Cardinals.
  17. Should be replacing Buehler or May at some point.
  18. It's fair to complain about the chase rate. That's one of the clearest paths to bringing the offense back to earth. Right now, they are really relying on good pitching. If those arms tire or take a step back, the offense has work to do.
  19. MN didn't want Duran or Abreu. They didn't seriously consider trading Ryan to begin with.
  20. Jackson Merrill signed for 9/135. Wander signed for 11/182. I think Roman would have rather taken this deal than gone for 15/240 with escalators. Not sure where the 100M comes from anyway.
  21. He seemed to be a good buy low option though, especially that first offseason when nobody had signed him and it was already ST.
  22. Wacha was NOT healthy or have that reputation after '22.
  23. I just thought the ZiPS projections were pretty bad for the a few of the Sox and it seems that they were a little to conservative.
  24. No, I think May sucks and hated the trade when it was made. I don't think Breslow and Bailey think that though.
