  1. Nobody wants to move to that dump. How about a real city like Tampa!
  2. Dodgers suck. (Can't win in the playoffs nowadays) Rangers suck. (No WS wins ever) Cards suck. (Team was going to be a .500 this year) Mets suck. (No hitting and injured SPs) Giants suck. (Bumgarner is too busy riding dirt bikes to play ball)
  3. Currently 24th in runs scored.
  4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killology Because he's trained to aim at a glove, not a target that looks human. His empathy impacted the throw (decreased velocity, missed location).
  5. I don't have a problem with the retaliation coming on Sunday. It's not an issue for me.
  6. This is an alternate timeline I could get behind.
  7. They typically give a 6 day suspension so that ERod would have gotten pushed back a few days.
  8. I think you generally have an idea of what isn't working after Memorial Day. April 27th, is probably too soon for a trade though. Honestly, I think Devers is a better option after the AS break than Rutledge or Marco Hernandez if Pablo isn't playing.
  9. To put early season standings in perspective, they are only one game better than the Phillies.
  10. In my imaginary world, I'd just have them throw at Buck Showalter.
  11. Because Chapman is a lefty. Young mashes lefties. Moreland does not.
  12. https://www.teamrankings.com/mlb/stat/team-left-on-base-per-game They are 29th out of 30. That's also a function of getting a lot of runners on.
  13. Well, maybe someday you'll be able to have a nice Pedroia in a bikini avatar.
  14. Wright's FB is about 84 MPH. Not horrible. It's risky to get a starter tossed, but it's not like he was pitching very well either.
  15. Yup, streaking would be nice. Sale always had his teammates' backs. That's why I never saw him as a dreaded "clubhouse cancer." He spoke up and acted out, but ultimately it was for his teammates.
  16. http://news.soxprospects.com/2017/04/scouting-scratch-rafael-devers.html TLDR: For his age, Devers has an advanced knowledge of the strike zone and solid pitch recognition skills. He still will get caught out in front on breaking pitches, especially early in the count as he aggressively hunts fastballs. With two strikes, however, he will shorten up and has no problem taking what the pitcher gives him. To compliment his potential plus hit tool, Devers also has plus-plus raw power and the potential to hit for plus in-game power. Devers’ swing isn’t the typical, left-handed, power hitter uppercut with a high finish, but when he catches the ball right he can lift the ball and drive it. If you see him play the field, it’s clear that there is no reason to discuss a move off third base at this point. Perhaps, he could eventually become too big, similar to what happened to Miguel Cabrera, but his skills should allow him to stick at third for the foreseeable future. It is telling that given how many top prospects the Red Sox have traded since Dave Dombrowski took over, the two offensive blue chippers they held onto were Andrew Benintendi and Devers... But despite the growing drumbeat from fans to replace Sandoval, Devers is unlikely to be ready to take over the position this season (although, given Dombrowski’s track record, I wouldn’t rule out seeing him at the big league level later this season if the third bases situation is still unsettled).
  17. We really have no idea. However, that interaction with Machado sent up some big smoke signals.
  18. There are 7 teams at 11-9. That isn't saying much.
  19. Why wait until the deadline to make a move?
  20. He didn't throw that ball. I also don't think Barnes was going for his head. The FB he threw at Machado was about 5 MPH lower than his normal speed. He probably just got nervous and didn't throw the pitch where he wanted.
  21. We don't need him! The offense will be fine without him! His big bat wouldn't protect anyone!
  22. He's definitely not covering himself in glory. This isn't one of those "Boston Media" stories either. I think there are serious concerns if a clubhouse leader can't back his own teammates publicly. It's a long season. If things don't get back on track, it could get really ugly. It's frustrating. Pedroia had a real bounce back season last year. I was hoping for a repeat performance, but it looks like 2016 could have been an aberration.
  23. Went in hibernation, just like Pedey's balls.
  24. Is he not in the dugout?
  25. He said Pedroier. That's someone else!
