  1. I agree. I like patience, but hate giving up on a pitch before it leaves a guy’s hand.
  2. Yup, always need to look for SP.
  3. Shakespeare is overrated claptrap. I only read the Fangraphs Tribune and Jay Jaffe's new book.
  4. Probably right, but I'm expecting another injury or roster moves to free up space.
  5. Jeter wants the Marlins to be contracted.
  6. I think they are only working him in at 1B for now. I'm not sure they think he has the footwork to play up the middle.
  7. Nah, it's easy as long as the manager is empowered to force the players to adjust.
  8. PER SOURCES: that would move Devers to 1b or "a greater shift in the left side of the IF" (i.e. bye bye Bogey).
  9. Yup. Sign JD to DH. Put Hanley at 1B. JD can play OF from time to time. Can rotate Travis in as needed.
  10. That's what everyone thinks Mr Bunker!
  11. I'm worried about his high k's and overall streakiness.
  12. @ScottLauber Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo on J.D. Martinez: "I don't think I've seen a more passionate, smarter hitter walk through his day-to-day activities. He studies, he watches as much video as I've ever seen." Arizona is hoping to re-sign Martinez but...
  13. That's not true either. A700 is right wing and will say some vaguely political things from time to time and usually gets a pass.
  14. Yes, that's definitely the same as saying "liberal pussies."
  15. Chavis plays 2b?
  16. Not really. Poor bat tool.
  17. @PeteAbe Boras defended JD Martinez as a RF, saying metrics are skewed by Betts and Heyward. But also said Martinez would adapt to a team that wanted him to DH.
  18. I would hold my nose and agree.
  19. @pedromoura To recap yesterday, Shohei Ohtani has a small tear in his elbow, as is common for major-league pitchers. The Angels knew about it, as did the other teams who pursued him. On that, and the Angels’ inclination to use a six-man rotation to keep him healthy
  20. Yup that's the concern area for me. He's only projected to have 120 innings. At least JBJ can lace them up everyday.
  21. Hard to be an ace if you've only thrown over 140 innings once in your MLB career.
  22. @nickcafardo The Red Sox were one of the teams who called the Orioles on Manny Machado.
  23. https://www.overthemonster.com/2017/12/13/16771182/alex-cora-red-sox-lineup-craig-kimbrel-xander-bogaerts Yooooooooooooooooo... Alex Cora is saying that the Sox are going to have a different offensive approach this year. They were too "passive" last year taking too many pitches down the middle early in the count. "We're going to talk to them and tell them to look for a pitch in the middle of the strike zone and do some damage with it." Be still my heart!
  24. Nope. The Boras narrative is overstated. He's not the devil. His clients will sign early. His clients will sign below market deals if they want to stay.
