  1. I just wouldn't count on his stuff looking like that this time out, because it hasn't always looked like that. Maybe he unlocked something with his secondaries? We just don't know. We also don't really know if there's an innings limit he'll bump into and what the ceiling is there. If he went to the pen and focused on using his FB over the last few weeks, he'd still be nasty (as long as the transition to the pen isn't an issue).
  2. His fastball comes with a lot of movement. Even if he misses location, he should be ok with that pitch. It's his only plus plus pitch right now. He's not throwing a straight Joe Kelly FB.
  3. Why would they DFA Casas if he still has MiLB options and a cheap contract? If anything, he has trade value that Masa does not.
  4. No matter what, one start wouldn't make him a bust. He's still a bit of a work in progress as a lot of his pitches are new to him. That he's in MLB right now is CRAZY. Whatever he does over the next month will be surpassed by how he pitches next season once he has had more time to work on his secondaries. While it's "just the Pirates" it's still a big jump. Any mistake pitch will get hammered.
  5. He doesn't have any options left. He pitched in AAA on rehab which is completely different.
  6. It's his first MLB start, so I'm not expecting dominance. He's still learning his secondaries.
  7. PIT is 29th in wRC+. They are probably already ruined.
  8. I would because the other OFers are Rafaela and Anthony. No reason to carry 4 guys for 3 spots, especially when 3 of them are LHB and 2 have massive split issues. They were looking to trade one of the OFers, Masa and Casas last offseason. I think we see a shakeup this offseason.
  9. I'm just going to grab a seat on the back porch and watch Tolle.
  10. Work is rarely worth it and mine has nature trails I can go on.
  11. Dobbins - Injured Crawford - Injured Sandoval - Injured Fitts - Injured Harrison - bad in AAA Giolito - needs to be re-signed That's why people have suggested trading for a SP.
  12. That's what I thought when you said Chapman 2.0. Chapman is having a career year, but he was still a pretty good reliever prior to coming here. He didn't need to be completely remade. Hicks needs a complete overhaul. If he becomes a 7th inning guy, I'd be happy with it. Right now, it's not a comfortable watch no matter the lead.
  13. Hicks has never had the record that Chapman did. If they think they can turn him into a closer, they are making a big mistake. Slaten or Whitlock maybe?
  14. It was just the very first inning and mainly bad defense that caused the big inning.
