Sox are concerned about Velazquez at the moment. They think his stuff may have taken a step back and don't want to overuse him in case there's an underlying injury.

Wake's slow knuckleball was about 59 with his fast being about 68. Definitely less of a range than Wright. Wright's range in speed is more like early RA Dickey who could throw it high 60's to low 80's.
He was suspended and just came back last week. Not sure how that changes my assertion that there's more than just Dan Butler that could be qualified to be a MLB catcher...
They'd still get free agency at some point, but it's not like every guy gets a huge FA payday. I'm not sure why players wouldn't want to give the lowest guys a pay raise. Seems equitable to me.
