    Peraza is 6 years younger. Holt is at the age where many people on here projected Mookie to decline. ZIPS prefers Peraza's glove at 2b and Holt's bat. Steamer prefers Peraza's glove and bat. Maybe now that there is an additional bench slot available, a jack of all trades master of none like Brock Holt is less valuable in this system?

    At the end of 2020, Peraza's deal could be almost 2M cheaper considering PA's and buyout.

    @byJulianMack Roenicke said they still don’t have a timeline on Verdugo. Said he’s running outside. Worth noting he threw for the first time since September yesterday. Chris Sale’s progression Roenicke said is going well. Sox want to see Peraza at second this spring, but in the absence of Bogaerts early on, team could possibly shift him to short for now.

    I don't have any complaints at the moment. I liked Ben too until he signed Pablo AND Hanley. If he had only signed one of them, he probably would have kept his job a little longer. He also needed to make a few more moves dealing a couple (not all) of prospects to improve BOS. He seemed very reluctant to move prospects.

    I'd be surprised if money was the hold up. I bet that Bloom is holding out for certain prospects.

    @Ken_Rosenthal Brock Holt contract with #Brewers, per source: One year, $3.25M. Guarantee includes $750K buyout if team does not exercise $5M club option for 2021. Also: $250K each for 400, 425 and 450 plate appearances.

    Bloom is definitely not going to rush into a deal. Maybe he wants to wait the Padres out since they are more desperate after almost a decade straight of losing seasons and signing Machado last offseason? I just wonder if Preller is leaking all of this just to show ownership that "hey, at least I tried. I was wheeling and dealing all offseason."
