Jacko, which AAA pitcher do you think will get the call first. Phelps? Noesi? Brackman? If Andy retires I don't think Mitre can hold that 5th spot for long. So maybe they're counting on those three, and that's why they haven't signed any Ponsonian pitcher so far.

The Yankees as constructed are still a 90+ win team. They have a minor league system full of trade chips they can use to improve and fill some holes, and it's December 14th. I'm not really concerned.

The only way they'll sign Crawford if is they fail to sign Lee. Sign Crawford/Werth and then trade Swisher/Gardner for a starter.

You never learn. It's the same Teixeira-Anderson thing all over again. Now with Crawford and Kalish. Another thing bout trying to be a perennial contender is that you need elite talent to play at an elite level.
