  1. Victory shall be ours today! With your first paycheck, you should buy yourself a Julio Lugo jersey! It's the one the hip kids are using. ("Hip", that's so old-timey)
  2. The entire basis of the Red Sox offense is OBP. Just sayin'.
  3. This is going places. He was just asking for a legitimate explanation, sir.
  4. Not underrated, but overshadowed by the importance of OBP, you can't steal first, and you can't score if you don't get there.
  5. How about no? Green has come up big in some spots, but he's a really vulnerable hitter, and you want one of your toughest outs out of the leadoff spot.
  6. But he struggles at the leadoff spot because he can't seem to handle the diet of strikes pitchers serve him to keep him off base.
  7. Drew gets on base no matter the quality of the pitcher. Francona sits him against tough lefties to justify playing Baldelli basically. Oh, and welcome to the board.
  8. May the Lord in the heavens hear your prediction and help its coming to fruition.
  9. Pujols.......
  10. Pujols hit 2 HRs and drove in 4 more today. His position in the major leagues stats leaderboard: OBP: First. SLG: First. OPS: (Obviously 1st). HR: First RBI: First. Runs: First. BB: First. BB/K ratio: (2+ 60 to 29!) First. BA: 12th. Sweet Lord, the man is a f***ing beast!
  11. Absolute Yankee failure.
  12. I never said he's bad. Don't put words in my mouth, sir. I said he's a lower tier first baseman, and what SUCKS is his defense, he's good for 20 HRs, 80 RBIs, but we can get someone better for not much more.
  13. Soooooooooooo...................Sox bullpen, eh?
  14. Johnnson's defense compares very favorably to Laroche's. Also, LaRoche has never had an OBP above .360 *coughunlikeLaRochecough* Mr. LaRoche still hits like he did in that one career year in Atlanta.
  15. No gapper, but he got it done.
  16. Drew'll get it done.
  17. I'm real worried about Johnson's health. But i'm twice as worried about LaRoche's SUCK. His swing is picture-perfect, but his approach and pitch selection are flawed, add to that the fact that he's defensively challenged and you have a recipe for suck. The problem with him is that there are better, more versatile options out there, remember, LaRoche can only play 1st, and he's not a glove the caliber of Johnson, doesn't have the multiple position flexibility of Atkins or Huff, and he doesn't have an impact skill, such as Johnsonn's OBP, or Huff's or Atkins' power. Sure, he can put up 20 homers, but what else? I mean, there's gotta be a reason why Atlanta was so eager to dump him after his breakthrough 32-homer season.
  18. Sweet Lord, Doiji, there're a thousand better options out there than LaRoche even if they come at a bigger price. I'd rather they get Nick Johnson, Aubrey Huff or Garret Atkins (who surely could benefit from a change of scenery) than LaRoche.
  19. Soooooo i'll be going to a two day-trip to a beach resort............. I shall try to obtain some white poontang. And hey, how' bout this kid Wakefield huh?
  20. Soooooooo......................Wake on base via hit.huh?
  21. Knuckler's movin'
  22. How about 96 MPH heat painting the low inside black against both righties and lefties? It's a thing of beauty.
