  1. I have the Sox on TV again, thank the Lord!
  2. Well i respect your right to a flawed opinion too, and i'm not calling you nay names. Besides the fact that you miss the point of the argument, my good sir, so stick to it. Is Terry Francona as good a manager as Tony LaRussa?
  3. ::lol:
  4. This is exactly how i feel.
  5. Grasping at straws. So, by your account, his weakness in game-to-game "Tactics" are not a very recognizable flaw? Besides, how about his "Tactic" of not PH for Varitek when he was mired in his slump during crucial situations, specially on days Drew was ready from the bench and the LHP was out of the ballgame? How about his "Tactic" of leaving a SP or RP after it's clear he has nothing on the ball. This i cannot stress enough. How about the "Tactic" of constructing completely "B" lineups when he could space out rest between regulars more evenly. (Last night being the exception.) How about his "Tactic" of never playing small-ball to manufacture a run when needed, i nearly crapped my pant's watching last night's game because of it.
  6. I'd post a translation to you of how they're exactly the same in the spanish language if you're interested.
  7. Now THIS was helpful.
  8. Trying to help by telling me to "Google it, because it's not that hard?" I had googled it and presented you with a valid link which you chose to ignore and pull out a definition out of your armpit!
  9. But not bigger or cooler.
  10. Wow, you can use stupid macro images to insult me in a medium that affords you anonymity. You're cool. And a hypocrite.
  11. Then go into diabetic shock and die.
  12. That's not funny at all, not only that, it proved nothing.
  13. Not trying to be a douche, seeing as i'm ESL, but can you point me somewhere that actually explains this on the level you're claiming. Because it makes no sense to me.
  14. http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/strategy I'm going by what i *think* i know. To me, strategy and tactics are the same thing.
  15. Ah yes, things are running smoothly. They'd be awesome if i didn't have to eat like an anorexic 16-year-old.
  16. This is true. However, they are still of importance. My argument would hold no water if Tito didn't keep making the same mistakes of letting relievers in too far or in disadvantageous situations, starters too long, and refusing to PH in certain situations. Last night was certainly a tease of what Tito is able to do, but doesn't do consistently. Not to mention the "running away in horror" of smallball.
  17. *Sigh* Strategy and tactics are synonyms, sir.
  18. But is it assured? Like 2,500-win assured?
  19. Please spell the differences, Doiji. And again, would you consider LaRussa's tactics "average"?
  20. Since we're quoting. This is my original take on Francona. I never said he was not a good manager as Doiji would have you believe with his word-twisting machine. And in-game managing is not the most important facet of the game. However, when saying a manager is as good as another, one, he has to be as good in every aspect of the game. Again, how can you compare Francona to LaRussa with a straight face? It baffles me.
