  1. Park construction: PNC Park: PNC Park. Safeco: Safeco Field. Which looks more forgiving to you: PNC vs lefties? or Safeco vs righties?
  2. If dead wrong means ignoring obvious factors to suit your arguments, then yes, we are indeed wrong, however: 1)You tried to compare PNC to Safeco, that is fallacy. 2) You compared Beltre to Jacoby Ellsbury. That is fallacy. 3) You fail to establish a consistent thought process applying logical values.
  3. PNC Park: Runs Hit HR 2B 3B BB 1.022 1.054 1.053 0.939 0.714 0.969 Above average on Runs, hits and HR's. Safeco: Runs Hit HR 2B 3B BB 0.947 0.886 0.984 0.911 0.842 1.085 Below average on everything but BB. MLB park Factors
  4. If you're going to use the phrase, at least use it correctly. If you can't see the fact that Beltre's the superior player and better fit, that's your problem. Anyways, i'm done here, but let me leave with the suggestion to only use phrases with meanings you actually know to interpret. Good day.
  5. This is what i thought in the first place. This is why you need to look at things without the passion of the player you like. The FO always knows better, because they have access to an enormous amount of information that we, as fans, don't.
  6. Smug comment. Typical Doiji. Anyways, if we attempt to use logical analysis, it's easy to demonstrate how the stadium plays a pivotal position in Beltre's OPS, not to mention Ellsbury has never hit 25 HR's in three straight seasons. If you ever break the twelve-year-old mentality pattern and reach a level of adulthood that will allow you to participate in baseball discussion not centered around your passion for the obviously inferior overall player (this is pathological too) then hit me up, i'll be ready to talk.
  7. With Scutaro signed for five mill to play SS, i think it's not realistic to expect the FO to spend considerable resources to bring in another SS when they have technically already dumped Lowell to open up a corner infield position.
  8. Yankee lefties SLG splits: Cano: .541 home/498 away. Matsui: .462 home/.567 away Gardner: .340 home/ .480 away Damon: .533 home/ .446 away Posada: .613 home/ .432 away, .623 SLG at home hitting as a lefty Swisher: .394 home/.585 away. Melky: .424 home/ .409 away, .425 SLG at home as a lefty. Most of the guys (except Swisher, whose splits are clearly a fluke) who are known to generate most of their power by pulling the ball to RF have a massive SLG advantage at home.
  9. If you don't like it, don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out. You're also helping hijack the thread. As a response to your point, if you think Bucholz has as much to prove as Chamberlain, it's your prerogative, but it's also aided by a lack of understanding about Clay Bucholz.
  10. Bucholz' 4.21 ERA last year would beg to differ. He showed better stamina and command than Chamberlain. You speak of 2007 but neglect 2009.
  11. It's useless to talk the talk like some people tend to do. You need to walk the walk and lead by example.
  12. Well i meant to call him out on starting the issue in the first place, otherwise you would be correct. I've been trying my best not to get tangled up in shitstorms or unnecessary fights, but i feel as though everyone else should understand that when you make a post here, either it be statistical or opinion, it is bound to get challenged. No use getting angry if someone shows you when you are incorrect, or tries to do so, all you have to do is defend your point to the best of your abilities using either logic or statistical analysis.
  13. SS is a defense-first position. If you're going to make a smug remark, at least make a good, well thought-out one. In SS, Gonzo's glove makes up for his poor bat. At 1B, Kotchman is absolutely horrible because his bat is horrible and his defense only slightly above-average.
  14. Was i unintentionally funny? It's 3 in the morning, so anything that can give me a laugh is welcome.
