  1. The Sox making the necessary moves to make sure they provide a run-prevention juggernaut for 2010.
  2. I'm probably one of the people with the least need for SAP. I can speak, spell and formulate sentences and paragraphs correctly. It always pisses me off when people who don't have ESL make less sense than i do, honestly.
  3. Beltre has 67 plate appearances at Fenway. Please stop.
  4. The problem is that it doesn't matter either way. None of us will ever know what exactly happened to fuel Beltre's 2004 season. It's like asking a chicken if an egg came before it.
  5. The Angels lost Vlad Guerrero, Figgins and Lackey, they have replaced all three with Hideki Matsui. They also have uncertainty on the back end of the bullpen, neither Rodney nor Fuentes is the answer at closer.
  6. Batting average is the first sign of a fluke season. I really don't care either way. If he did steroids he did them, if he didn't, he didn't, if it was a contract year, that's what it was, and if it was a fluke season, that's what it was as well. He is what he is, a guy with great defense and good power who doesn't get on base much. Even in his monster year he didn't get on base much when taking his Ba into account.
  7. This and this.
  8. Yeah, even though defensive metrics, the Sox medical staff, and hell, watching the ballgames point otherwise. You know, wishing for the impossible hard enough won't make it come true.
  9. The makings of a legend begins on the person's ability to influence others in a positive note even while not physically present. Jacksonian obviously has the makings of a legend, a man that impacts history in such a way, that his exploits will be remembered for centuries after his passing.
  10. I think it was just a fluke. A lot of hitters/pitchers have monster contract seasons, then never repeat them again. He might have been on steroids, but none of us really knows.
  11. Or a downright fluke.
  12. The Figgins-Ichiro one-two punch will become a disruptive force at the top of that lineup, and a healthy, happy Bradley is very much capable of carrying that offense. They will have a big impact. Not to mention Ryan-Rowland Smith is a better rotation arm than most people give him credit for.
  13. Last with 640, but now they've added Chone Figgins and Milton Bradley. If they bring Branyan back, the offense should be much more potent.
  14. I think Seattle's 1-2, plus the benefit of the stadium will have them being the pitching staff that allows the least runs next year.
  15. The fact that it will be comfortably above average will be icing on the cake.
  16. Even if more K prone, this should be an offense that should be more consistent than last year's. Some people may not agree with me on this, but the greater speed combined with a deeper lineup should help avoid those long dry spells that the 2009 offense would get itself into.
  17. Maybe we can dangle Kotchman for one?
