  1. The average OF got on base at a .328 clip last year. Cameron's .342 OBP is obviously better than that. So it's above average. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!! Baseballreference.com. Do your own research.
  2. You should post this somewhere SoxSport can see it.
  3. It's more special than trolling.
  4. So they're also going to assemble a really good bench to protect the main lineup from injuries/ineffectiveness. I like.
  5. This. One Thousand Times.
  6. Holy hell, what a nice move! In his career, he's posted around average or above average UZR's at 2B, SS, 3B and the OF. Not to mention he's shown the ability to hit in the past.
  7. He gets on base, hits for power and plays excellent D. He makes the Sox a better team, and the stats back it up.
  8. Neither of those slumps lasted two months. And also, Green and Varitek were slumps all year long. Don't know where you're coming from with this, since a lineup with nine productive hitters is less likely to slump than one with seven and two suckfests.
  9. They trade Lowell too. IMO, they might get an OF like Fernando Tatis or Jonny Gomes who can also play 1B, since V-Mart can play 1B if need be when 'Tek catches.
  10. *Sigh* Lifetime .325 with a 270 BA. Let's say, for the sake of argument, he hits .290, and matches his 2008 BB mark of 50. That's a .350 OBP right there.
  11. This. I said it in another thread. Last year's lineup had two black holes. One in SS, one in C. No more.
  12. That has never been a problem for LH Left fielders. Think Johnny Damon.
  13. Problem with that is Lowell wasn't "proven" against the AL East either. Or AL at all for that matter. His numbers against AL East teams are a very small sample size, so it shouldn't be taken as a predictor of his future performance. He's proven in the AL West, a division with good pitching and big stadiums. Not much else you can ask when acquiring a player.
  14. If you state clearly that this is merely your personal opinion, and you're not trying to prove a point, it's a whole different scenario. You're entitled to think he'll be a bust, just like some others (me included) can think he'll thrive looking to make more money and going from Safeco to Fenway.
  15. I was just about to post this. Both Bay and Papi disappeared during large portions of the 2009 season.
  16. This is a massive cop-out. As far as the "twisting words around" i'm using exactly what you said. You said we'd be lucky if he hit double digit homers. I say he averages 24 over his career, so that's absolutely ridiculous. I also say using small sample sizes in stadiums he's barely played in is not a good indicator of future performance, and a pretty illogical way to see things. I called you out on both accounts. You cop out. There is no trend. When you post an opinion at a Red Sox discussion board, expect it to be challenged. There was no disrespect in my words, but a merely stating of the facts. You're the one twisting words here, my good man.
  17. So even though he averages over 20 HR's (24 HR's) per year over his major league career, now he'll magically not be able to hit over nine, in a much easier stadium for RHH. Also, he won't "hit when it matters"? That's pretty humorous.
  18. Really? Fenway Park: 67 PA's. Camden Yards: 92 PA's. YS/NYS: 76 PA's. Tropicana Field: 70 PA's. Rogers Centre: 119 PA's.
  19. You do know "text speak" refers to cell phone messaging right?
  20. Case in point.
  21. My left eye literally twitched when i read this. If he weren't the best IRL troll in history, i'd wish Kanye a horrible, horrible death. And no, i don't like it. It's annoying as f***. And it's even worse in spanish.
