  1. Cervelli is what he is. A solid defensive backstop with little offensive upside. He'll hit a bit better than Molina, but that's like choosing between diarrhea and constipation.
  2. Please do it.
  3. Not the '05, '06 versions of it.
  4. Beltre is what Lowell was five years ago, but with better defense. If you're gonna whine about his low OBP then you gotta whine about Lowell's too. The team's "philosophy" is to win ballgames, and Beltre will help them do just that, this is a guy that literally busted a nut last year, but had three 25-HR years in a row at Safeco Field. What are you talking about?
  5. He was a better value per WAR than Jason Bay last year. (Positional difference needs to be taken into account though)
  6. In all fairness, that award is meaningless because they use subjective methods of evaluation. Advanced defensive metrics show Ellsbury was a way below-average defender at CF last year, and the fact that the Sox want to move him to LF proves this theory.
  7. The Sox are absolutely full of win now. Of course i'm a happy camper.
  8. I like you. And your username is a good one.
  9. You do know she's talking about cell phone message talk right?
  10. I can't wait to see this team take the field in 2010.
  11. Next off-season i'll whine for a Joe Mauer/Cliff Lee dual signing. You just watch.
  12. Hey. I support the roster, but i'm a demanding fan. I demanded no Kotchman as a regular, and my demands were met. See, my whining pays off sometimes.
  13. Well we'll whine about him when we reminisce.
  14. NO MORE KOTCHMAN!!!!!!! I didn't dislike him, but the idea of having him start at first makes me sick. That is all.
  15. 17 per? Why not?
  16. I read it wrong then. You're probably correct. Indeed, you are correct.
  17. Varitek's post-break .489 OPS through 134 AB's was literally God-awful. Instead, you get Martinez' .837 OPS for a full season. Nick Green's .502 post- break OPS was also an absolute black hole. Instead you get Scutaro's .721 career OPS for a full season. That being said, we should expect some regression because of the downgrade from Bay to Cameron. Scutaro and Martinez should make up for some of it, but i still expect next year's team to score less runs than the 2009 model, but have a more consistent offense.
