  1. Adam Dunn 2009 season: .928 OPS. David Ortiz 2009 season: .794 OPS. It's not even close anymore. Dunn strikes out a lot, but he also gets on base a lot, hits for more power and can actually play D in the OF corners, and fake it at 1st.
  2. It can work for the Yankees, but it can't work for the Red Sox. I see.
  3. Lowell can't play 110 games at third. There's the issue. He was supposed to be unloaded, but Texas balked. If Ortiz wasn't absolutely sucking it up in the DH spot, then Lowell might have been cut or traded for a lesser piece. The imbalance is mostly created by Papi's suck.
  4. Adam Dunn. Watch it happen.
  5. I'd say what i always say, but i won't. I'll just wait it out and hand out "I told you so's" when the time is right. Wait for it.
  6. Yeah that Beltre guy sure sucks.....HE DARED MAKE AN ERROR! Miguel Tejada hates him though.
  7. Please take the time to read other people's opinions before putting words in their mouths. Besides, i haven't said April games count less than other games, but they don't count more.
  8. Bolded reasons are of particular truth.
  9. Need: SP. Trading: Stephen Drew, Kelly Johnsonn, Adam Dunn, Evan Longoria (on the right deal).
  10. But it wasn't. A win is a win. As i said before, there are obvious issues with this team (as with every team) but there's a very significant chance that the SP rights the ship in the following days, and once it does, then the team as a whole will be much more effective. Something needs to be done about both the bullpen and Tito's bullpen management though.
  11. Fantastic contribution. Thank you.
  12. Wait, but haven't they won two series in a row? How can you stand the pain of the knee-jerking?
  13. I obviously don't think Vasquez is that bad, but i'll be dropping some "I told you so's" if he keeps this up.
  14. The GT's have become so predictable. And Jacko, didn't you get a warning from YOTN the other day to stop being a f***ing pest in the GT's?
  15. IMO the problem isn't necessarily the obligations they do have, but the obligations that they'll lose, plus the sheer amount of arbitration cases on really good players that they have for next year. Crawford, Burrell, Pena, Soriano, Balfour and Randy Choate are all FA. Garza, Upton, Bartlett, JP Howell, Lance Cormier, Andy Sonnastine and Matt Joyce are all due arb raises. David Price and Evan Longoria are both due contract raises. They only have 13 million comitted to next year's team currently (as per Cot's baseball contracts), but considering the amount of FA holes they'll need to fill, as well as arb and contract increases i don't believe it's realistic to expect the Rays to deal both prospects (who could help fill some of those holes) or spend 20-22 million a year (which would constitute maybe a third of their payroll, and much less both.
