  1. What an embarrassing way to walk away from the game. Never liked him. Wouldn't get my vote for the Hall. Great hitter, but his numbers were clearly inflated.
  2. Nice pickup of Brandon Belt, SFOC. I was planning on getting him off the WW myself, only I wasn't exactly sure who to drop for him. I may be kicking myself for my indecision by season's end.
  3. Apparently, Y228 disagrees with you, Jacko. Why shouldn't the Mariners ask for the moon for Felix? The Yankees have some serious question marks at SP, which gives the Mariners a lot of leverage. And again: Felix: Arguably best pitcher in MLB Montero and Banuelos: Unproven big prospects who could flame out If Cashman passed on the deal, the Mariners could get a big return for Felix from other teams. I would imagine if the Mariners end up shopping Felix, they'll get more than a few interesting offers, which would make the Yankees up the ante.
  4. However, that's probably what the Mariners would ask for, and I think it would be more than fair. As great as their upside is, neither one is proven. Montero also loses some value because he will, in all likelihood, wind up being a DH. Smoak will develop and is an excellent fielding 1B. Banuelos has only had a cup of coffee in AA, so we've yet to see what he can do in the upper levels of the minors. Meanwhile, Felix is arguably the best pitcher in baseball, and he's only 25 (or will be in a few days).
  5. Ignorance. I've seen him play all season, and he's the real deal. He's carried the Bulls. No doubt Howard and LeBron are great players, but Rose has taken his game to another level this year. And while some of you will scoff at this, he's a helluva lot more clutch than Howard and LeBron. When the game is on the line, you want the ball in his hands. He has come through time and time again. Put the ball in Howard's hands, foul him, and watch him shoot two bricks; that's not a closer. LeBron and Howard can't close games like Rose, just like they can't close games like Kobe. Rose is a dominant point guard. Aren't too many of those. I'm anticipating another asinine attack from JE about how I'm a Joe fan who doesn't know s***.
  6. My bad, I forgot I was talking to Dipre, who is never wrong about anything.
  7. I watched the game, and you're one to talk about back-patting.
  8. Regardless, Jenks had like 3 blowups exactly like the one last night in 2010. He has more in store for 2011.
  9. One more move. I'm dropping Matt Reynolds and replacing him with: Jeremy Affeldt - RP ($4.5 Million)
  10. Beastly game from Rose against a good defense, 30 and 17. Willed the Bulls to victory. I love all of the MVP chants he gets on the road.
  11. Before the start of the 2010 season, I (and a few others) said the Sox should let Beckett walk and sign Cliff Lee. It was not a popular opinion at the time.
  12. http://www.talksox.com/forum/talk-sox-forum/14941-2011-red-sox-predictions.html#post604859 You heard it here first.
  13. Ian Kennedy would be looking pretty good right now in pinstripes, wouldn't he?
  14. I'm officially dropping Kyle McClellan, although I think he'll be a decent starter for the Cards. I'm replacing him with someone I wanted to draft initially. I just couldn't find a spot for him on the roster. But now that's all changed, so without further ado: Kenley Jansen - RP ($400,000)
  15. Fair enough, although I never said I didn't care about winning. I just hope that Rose and Thibs get the recognition they deserve.
  16. What an awesome season for the Bulls. Pulling away from the Celtics. Rose should win MVP and Thibs should win Coach of the Year. I knew they were going to be good this year, but not this good. I thought, at best, they could be the #3 seed in the East. As it stands now, they have as good a chance as anyone at winning it all.
  17. Then again, maybe I'm just easily impressed.
  18. Wow, this is nuts. I could tell the Bulls were going to have their way with the Kings tonight in the first quarter. I knew that Rose wouldn't have to do much or play much, so I predicted he would score 18 and have 8 dimes. Right on the money. I should buy a lottery ticket or something...
  19. I don't think the Perkins trade helped them at all...
  20. I also have a surplus of talent at 2B in Beckham, Raburn (OF and 2B eligibility), and Nishioka (2B and SS eligibility). I'm looking for a catcher.
  21. DD, PM me your proposal.
  22. All right, let the trade talk begin. I've got a lot of pitching. Hudson, Zambrano, Jackson, Chacin, and Garza are all on the table.
