    Carter's hurt, and Bailey's the Charlie Zink of offense. That's the only reason I'm looking to AA or outside the org. I really think Lars could work out. It's not like we'd be calling on Jon Still of Lancaster to be our starting catcher -- Anderson has an impeccable prospect pedigree and he's an incredibly talented hitter who's put up very advanced rate stats at an extremely young age and has transitioned quickly at each level. And don't underestimate Theo's ability to think outside the box here -- it's not even close to a majority chance but it could happen.

    Not that raw. He's got quite a nice little OBP down in Portland and for his age is an exceedingly polished hitter. but point taken. If we don't promote Lars another thing that could happen is that the Sox could make a deal with the Royals for Ryan Shealy -- who would at least be a warm body to back up Casey and at best could provide enough RH power to make up for the loss of Lowell.

    Is it possible that we might see Lars Anderson get a cuppa as a result of this? I mean, in terms of raw talent he'd clearly be the best option sinde we really don't have anyone who can play a major league iB or 3B at Pawtucket, and Anderson looks like he's adjusted to AA just fine and is killing the baseball -- I imagine he could be adequate at the big league level on an emergency basis right now. If we're resigning ourselves to full-time Caseyness at 1B as it is, why not go with a young option who's swinging a great stick up in Maine instead? I'm pretty sure the Sox would prefer not to do it all things being equal, but remember that Masterson went from Portland to Boston to Pawtucket this year even though he wasn't on the 40-man at the start of the procedure, so it's something they're willing to do if they see a hole.

    If he was a Yankee we would absolutely loathe him. Personally I don't care if Pedroia talks big since he backs it up on the field.

    I think we di a Theo Special -- sort of flirt with the Brewers about a price, but waffle about giving that much until someone else blows him away. I'm guessing Hardy will be a Dodger next year. One thing I do know -- you don't pass up on a possible middle of the order SS bat because of a kid without a year's service time. Not unless you're sure of him.

    Imagine how good our infield would be with Hardy as the starting SS and Lowrie as the backup 2B/SS/3B providing one of the best switch-hitting bench bats in the league

    On a "plug in a scrub" night you're lucky to be in line for a win. This has been a wild, crazy game, full of screaming and Pepto Bismol, but in the end here we are. Wow.

    Let's not forget that a whole heck of a lot of credit needs to go to Hideki Okajima with some clutch pitching in extremely difficult circumstances.. Also to Youk and Peddy with some defensive gems that helped to turn things round.
