  1. You were saying?
  2. Jeter should have been struck out. The home plate ump needs to get the Yankees team Player of the Game.. He's been utterly undependable on the lower left corner.
  3. Should be strike 3. Ball 2 was down the pipe.
  4. Can has quiet inning?
  5. That was a good defensive play.
  6. Remy. That may have been a make-up call for ball 3 there.
  7. Thing of beauty.
  8. Papelbon will not give up a home run here. Absolutely not. No way whatsoever.
  9. Ahh, the good ole Yankee Squeeze is on. That ball was practically down the chute.
  10. OK, so chance for a double play. Would be nice, I guess, if this whole situation wasn't screaming 3 run homer.
  11. calling it: ground ball right up the middle, base hit, 2-2.
  12. Can't we, just once, stand up and do something right against NYY?
  13. That's one of the reasons I think neither of Fielder or Gonzalez are going to be acquired by trade, nor will we sign Pena or Dunn unless we lose Ortiz. We need a righthanded power hitter, especially with Beltre moving on, and our acquisitions will be focused that way.
  14. Kinda depends on how desperate you are to cling to the illusion that Mike Cameron is our starting CF next year.
  15. Felix Doubront. *and the crowd goes wild!* Tell him what he won, Jim!
  16. It doesn't matter why Ellsbury is gone, ultimately the issue is he's being lost from the team in order to keep two players who'll be gone by 2012. If they get a good return for him the move is slightly less odious, but the idea behind it would still be short-sighted.
  17. Why are you basing this entirely off this season? That makes NO sense. You have to take a multiyear approach to the roster, otherwise you wind up making all kinds of fool moves that don't pay off in the final analysis. Little details like cost-controlled years really add up, and they can add up in your favor if you take advantage of them or bite you in the butt if you don't. Your call on that one, I know my answer.
  18. "fast" because Rizzo's closing quickly and I don't think either of them DHing or playing left field would be positive for their development. Neither would Rizzo being trapped in Portland blocked by what looks suspiciously like the inferior prospect.
  19. I hope not. Werth reeks of potential regression. His true talent level is as a ~25 HR, ~.850 OPS right fielder. That's not chopped liver, but the other thing it isn't is a guy you go for broke on..
  20. No, they'd be risking paying Cameron 8 million while Ellsbury steals 70 again for the Rangers. And then at the end of the year, they'd lose Cameron and Ellsbury would *still* be stealing 70 for the Rangers for at least the next 2 years and probably much longer than that. Each additional year after the next one it becomes progressively more stupid to chose/have chosen moving Ellsbury over Cameron or Drew.
