  1. That was a bit of vintage Papelbon. Wow.
  2. just missed with all 4 of those, could have potentially gotten a call on at least 2.
  3. Castig just Truped me.
  4. Very professional inning by Bardo. 10 pitches.
  5. It was on the black, D-Lee. Say goodnight.
  6. LOL half the central and mountain time zone games are further along than ours.
  7. Ellsbury delivers!
  8. Neither Weiland, nor Doubront, nor Lavarnway are garbage. Weiland didn't have a good start this afternoon but he's proven he has big league stuff, showed some poise after getting hammered, and showed some signs scouts are going to like seeing. Doubront has already proven he can hang in the big leagues in either a starter or relief role. Lavarnway has an impressive hitting pedigree and is improving behind the plate at catcher. All prospects have flaws. All 3 of these ballplayers have impressive assets to offset those flaws. They should be desirable to other GM's.
  9. make-up ejection.
  10. Question to kick around: Would you be interested in having Jeremy Guthrie on the Red Sox?
  11. Any particular reason we can't start Navarro at short? Let's see the kid at his natural position. At least he has something attached to the end of his right shoulder colloquially referred to as an "arm." Not sure Scutaro's heard of them.
  12. I liked his poise. There are definitely kids who Tito would have had to get in the second. Weiland gave us 2 more innings and kept the workload on the relievers down, made the game more winnable.
  13. I love that we got Aceves after the Yankees dumped him. That was highway robbery by the Red Sox for a really, really, really good depth reliever.
  14. Great job by Aceves!
  15. Impressive work so far by Aceves
  16. Well no one who didn't watch the game will believe it, but Weiland had some redeeming qualities in the start, he showed a good fastball and some good poise. He just had some inconsistent moments that killed him. Summary of my impression of his start: I can see why he's a high end prospect. I can also see why he's projected for the bullpen. Not sure I agree yet. I'd need to see him again. At this point that's probably not happening this year however, I suspect the next callup will be Doubront.
  17. umpfail. NWIH he was trying to hit him there.
  18. Well crap. That's almost a certain tie game there.
  19. D'aww. Well we got the lead.
  20. Bah. Young hitter will make mistakes. C'mon Tek.
