  1. Hit with murder and weapons charges.
  2. Where's Keeper these days? Probably in the fetal position crying into his Bulls towel about the unfairness of it all.
  3. The tidal of wave of butthurt over LeBron/the Heat's success is just glorious. Ital gets a pass because he has a valid reason to be pissed, being a Spurs fan.
  4. I love how Popovich stubbornly keeps Ginobili (who's washed up and keeps turning ball over) and Green (useless when he's not wide open, which he never is anymore) in the game, but plays the mad scientist substitution game with the rest of his guys, who are actually contributing. What a dope. I'm not even a Spurs fan but it was hard watching those guys walk down that hallway, having been borked by their coach's foolishness.
  5. Put it this way. If the Red Sox were in the ACLS or WS and John Farrell had done the equivalent of what Popovich did tonight, whatever that would be, there would be full-blown riots in the streets of Boston and Farrell would have to be put under protective custody.
  6. Duncan gets those rebounds, or at the very least helps somebody else secure them. That's one of the fundamental aspects of his whole game. Manu was throwing the game all night. I thought Popovich was too objective and clear-sighted to let one aberration game suddenly earn that player the right to win or lose the next one, but I guess not. You can't blame the refs when you had control over your own destiny and blew it. You can't blame missed FTs, because missed FTs happen. If Popovich hadn't had a massive brain fart, is there a still a chance the Spurs would have lost? Sure. But he didn't give his team the best chance, because he was busy getting cute with his lineups. This benefit of the doubt thing is a crock. Bad decisions are bad decisions. Popovich deserves to be lambasted in the media.
  7. The Spurs were one defensive rebound away from winning in regulation. One. But Tim Duncan was benched on both of those possessions. Popovich benched Parker a couple of times too. Meanwhile Manu Ginobili has been god f***ing awful all night (and most of the playoffs), and not only does Popovich never bench his washed-up ass, he keeps putting the ball in his hands and letting him have the run of the court, which of course turns into Manu throwing the ball away and taking wild shots in traffic every time down. Textbook case of overcoaching and out-thinking yourself. Spoelstra won a coaching battle without even doing anything. Popovich deserves to be spit-roasted over an open fire in the media. Won't happen though, too much legacy. Ital, apparently you're a Spurs fan (or just a really dedicated Heat hater). You should be absolutely f***ing furious over what just happened. If this was the Celtics on the wrong end of this I would be in a daze with anger.
  8. Gregg Popovich is a f***ing dolt.
  9. Fans are fickle. Push a youth movement and they'll buy it. If you have to, hang on to Rondo and sell him as the new Pierce, even though it will do dick for his trade value. It's either take a loss in the short term for a gain in the long term, or stay in denial, and take a smaller loss in the short term and a bigger loss in the long term. I'd rather not become the Raptors.
  10. The only time in the past twenty years (the worst stretch in franchise history) that we've fallen under 20th in attendance was in 04-05 (a playoff year, oddly enough). For the most part in the KG era the team hasn't drawn that much more than it did before, in terms of league standing at least. The fans will be there. I could see Wyc and company balking because there's a chance they could be getting ready to sell, but that's it. I don't know what reasonably competitive means though. Reasonably competitive for a playoff spot? Nobody in Boston cares about a mere playoff spot, especially after the 2000s.
  11. Celtics and Clippers have been in trade talks involving KG and Doc Rivers going to LA with DeAndre Jordan, Eric Bledsoe, and two firsts coming back here. Pierce likely wouldn't be back either but that's a different matter. Right now talks are at an impasse because LA doesn't want to give up Bledsoe while Boston won't do the deal without him. Love it for multiple reasons. 1) It finally stops this fruitless slow decline and initiates the rebuild. 2) DeAndre Jordan will be a big expiring contract in two years. If we strike it rich in next year's draft and find ourselves on the fast track back to relevance, that will come in very handy. 3) Bledsoe coming back likely means Rondo will be dealt. 4) By the time we (hopefully) draft our star, we're already going to have some capable supporting players in house who, among other things, can play some defense. We won't have a Sacramento or Charlotte scenario where the inmates are running the asylum and nobody has any fundamentals. The one negative is Doc is a guy I'd prefer to hang on to, for stability reasons. I know the lottery hasn't been kind to the Celtics but it really is the only option.
  12. Kawhi Leonard was f***ing everywhere.
  13. I had picked Miami but I'm ready to flip-flop after game 1. Spurs just outplayed the Heat, despite that luck shot by Parker.
  14. probably something to do with star trek if YOTN is in on it
  15. It just occured to me - I can watch this game. On the Rangers broadcast. This ought to be trippy.
  16. And Wade had the nerve to bitch about his role after the game.
  17. I've ranted several times about clutch/crutch and no one ever listens. So why bother.
  18. To be fair he said cutch not clutch.
  19. I think Oladipo's a little small to be a full time SF. There is no clear cut number one, it all comes down to need. If I'm the Cavs I'd try to unload Waiters and Varejao for a better big man, and then take Oladipo to fill Waiters' spot. Irving and Oladipo is a pretty solid backcourt. If that doesn't work, might as well just take Noel and hope for the best.
  20. Oladipo's a guard, so I doubt that unless they're trading Beal. Grunfeld's a dope so really who knows what he'll do.
  21. And now a shitload of LeBron back to Cleveland in 2014 rumors have started up. I would hope he's not that f***ing dumb.
  22. This is not a good draft so it won't matter. I think the NBA will troll the Kings by finally giving them #1 this year. I think whoever ends up with Oladipo will end up being the winner of this draft. He's an MKG type guy, although strictly a guard and better defensively. It might be hard for a franchise to justify taking him first over some of the higher upside guys, especially if you're a ways away from accomplishing anything, but whoever takes him will probably be very happy down the road. Noel is already injured and he's a stick figure. I'm torn on him. He'll either be a super-agile defensive force, or a bust who gets brutalized under the rim. Shabazz Muhammad has fallen out of favor for lying about his age and being selfish, but I haven't given up hope that he can be a very good SG/SF, kinda like Pierce. Zeller's a big man who isn't assertive, can't defend, and can't rebound. Waste of time. Len is a question mark. I don't know what to think about him. McLemore is a shooter who's way too passive. He'll be a bust. This one looked good a year ago. Makes you wonder if next year's class, which looks great right now, will crumble and look fairly mediocre come draft time.
