  1. I was reading some comments on the story posted as Yahoo Sports. One from a typically cerebral Yankees fan read: he's right , no heart no sole the sux suck , go yanks!! This is exactly the type of dumb-ass fan that makes we want to go screaming into the night. Not just because she's a Yankees fan, but also the fact that the Yankees are the single most robotic bunch of flat lining millionaires that you'll ever see. When was the last time you saw Ster-Rod show emotion other than getting hit by a pitch. even Jeter, who I believe to be a gamer, always looks like he listening to a boring lecture. Apparently, this Yankee fan isn't picking up on that.
  2. Hey, I totally admit that a month from now we all might be giddy over a turn around and most people will deify Valentine for his genius. I'll be just as happy with the improvement if it happens. I still think it was a dick move.
  3. I was referring to the circumstances we do know: New manager, two weeks in, player with positive history.
  4. I agree. I also hope that it has the desired effect and doesn't make the clubhouse issues worse.
  5. I agree with you 100% in that point. I just don't think the method was appropriate given the circumstances.
  6. That is NOT what I'm saying. Delicate Princesses can and should be made uncomfortable if they deserve it. Such a short sample doesn't accurately reflect Youkilis the player. If this happen in June, or even May, maybe it seems less like a helpless jackass move by BV. I still don't think it should have been done in the press no matter when it was done, though.
  7. Whether or not he's right isn't even the main issue. You don't call a guy out in the press like that. New sheriff my ass! He has to earn the respect of the team just like anyone, and this ain't the way to do it.
  8. First of all, it's two freakin' weeks into the season! Valentine hasn't been there long enough to know who's feeling what. Second of all, its two freakin' weeks into the season! I've had heartburn last longer than that! You can't make an assessment on a guy (who is known for his almost over-the-top intensity) after just two weeks. Hell. two years ago he was getting in fights with slackers over his crazy intensity: http://is.gd/Uqbiki Lastly, anyone with a half-a-brain knows you can't call a guy out when: You haven't spoken to him. You're in the midst of the first win streak of the young season). You're talking to the Boston media. Valentine has done s*** so far to impress me. He needs to do more than pace the dugout with that stupid half-grin before he can insult a player like Youkilis. Even if he's totally right... which I sincerely doubt, it was still a stupid thing to do. Pedrioa's quote is absolutely AWESOME: "I don't know what Bobby's trying to do, but that's not the way we do things here," said Pedroia. "Maybe that stuff works in Japan." (http://is.gd/c2yvU7)
  9. Super. First runner to reach base, immediately followed-by a wild pitch.
  10. I'm horrified by the things in this article. I was not a fan of the Lackey signing from the start. He always impressed me as a self centered player when he was with the Angels (not to mention overrated) and I was not looking forward to having to root for him. As it turns out, his 2011 season is officially the worst in Red Sox history. Like someone said above, Lester is the one who really breaks my heart. His back story is one of a fighter. Overcoming such adversity to become one of the foremost pitchers in MLB, only to have sunk down to this level? Nauseating! I don't know what to say about Beckett. His resume is awesome, but it's only worth so much. He's not good enough now to compensate this kind of a drag on the team. So Tito is gone and Theo is going. What happens next? What are the odds that something can bring these players together and performing in 2012?
  11. This is the first post season in a long time that I have no clue what to hope happens.
  12. It's nice to see Paps doing a little fist pumpin' again. Even if I have to stay up 'til 1:20 to see it.
  13. Thankfully you were not on the money with this one. His command looked awesome.
  14. Look at that McDonald AB! http://i.imgur.com/zzPOE.jpg Who the hell is that behind the plate?
  15. According to the Boston Herald (http://bit.ly/iaITe8) Johnny Damon had this to say about why he would wear the Sox cap should he make it to the Hall of Fame: Now, help me if my memory is failing me. Did he not leave Boston for more money from the Yankees? And more specifically, didn't he take the Yankee offer without allowing the Sox a chance to match it? I guess the question is does he have amnesia or do I? I'll leave the comments about his odds at the HOF to others.
