  3. $300,000 for 1 year, HELL YES. I'd do it for $50,000 for 1 year!
  4. Indeed! I know I'd be like Ted Williams. Maybe not skill wise but for the love of the game, I'd just go out there and play. That's all I want.

    Help

Sorry but it's the best info I could get. His name wouldn't help however since it's such a common name, a lot of people have it. I'll probably be better off just calling him again lol.
  6. Thank you thank you. I just can't wait to get up to Pawtucket. I'm really excited to start playing ball. Even if it's minor leagues, it's still baseball.

    Help

I need help finding info on a minor league team back in the 50s. It was the team my grandpa was on. I've asked him before but forgot. Not to mention he mumbles each time he says the name. All I know is that it was in Mississippi (Possibly Natchez) and was either named or owned by a man named John (can't remember last name). If anyone could help I'd appreciate it.
  8. Better break out the new Topps cards! http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i316/astronut22/1986-topps-bonds.jpg Yeah I know it's an old Pirates card... but it's still funny and to the point.
  9. I'm sure, REALLY sure the man has been discussed here before, but I just want to see for myself what you guys think of the man? Personally, you couldn't really get much better than Ted Williams. My grandpa always said he had the most beautiful swing he ever saw. Which I agree. It's sad they way he went out of this world. But if he is re-animated in the future and healed, there no doubt the first thing he'll be doing! I even had the privilege once of swinging a Ted Williams bat, not hitting a ball, just swinging it. He had used it in a game and it was even autographed by him and you could see where the ball connected to the bat, there was a suff mark and a small dent... Ha! Anyway, what do you think of the legend? Also, a while back I made a Ted Williams tribute video on YouTube. You can view it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqxoIvxLpN8 Feedback is welcome.
  10. My own Grandpa played AAA in Natchez, MS. Forgot the name of the team (John something something). He was a catcher, then enlisted in the Navy during Korea. I know a lot of the guys on the New Orleans Zephyrs. Larry Broadway, the first basemen, is a beast, the dude is huge when you stand next to him. He's pretty cool. He was on deck once and I was sitting behind the backstop and while the current batter kept hitting pop up fouls, he and I talked for a bit.
  11. Would you believe it if my mom said she thought Schilling was 60 when she saw a pic of him??!
  12. Looking.
  13. Me in a lie? I know that... My only options from the PCL to being called up are the Mets (BLAH), Cardinals (Okay), Brewers (Can't be too bad), or the Astros (Not so bad). BUT, If my plans keep going as they are going, I'll be moving to Pawtucket to try and play there.
  14. Come on Sox take Father Curt back! He may be declining but everyone gets into a slump. I think making him a Relief this season could make him stronger, and possibly start in 2008 with Boston for his last year?
  15. I wish Highschool used wood... I really hated using Alluminum
  16. That's sick... Then again, if yeszir was serious about it... then that's still sick.
  17. Yes, yes you will lol, thanks, glad to be here.
  18. I swing left. I use to swing right but I could never find a good stance. So one day I tried left and it's been that ever since. But I can't do big bats, big as in weight. That's why I have two 34'' of a different weight.
  19. Game 6 of the '86 World Series was the worst day of my life..... And I wasn't even born yet...
  20. Well that's straight and foward of a personal question... Well... in two years time, everyone's gonna know my name. Lol.
  21. What kind of bats does everyone here use? I use a 33'' and a 34'' Louisville Slugger Grand Slam. My 34'' is lighter and is my primary bat. I also have another 34'' that weighs 40 ounces and it's too heavy for me so I never use it unless I bunt or do a sacrifice of some sort.
  22. Do you think he'll be a good pitcher? His ERA is good, for the Japanese League, but he's never played MLB before. What do you think he'll do this year? I think he won't be as good as expected, seeing it's his first time there. But 2008 should be his breakout year.
  23. Next season.
  24. Hey everyone!!! I live in New Orleans and just want to say for all my buddies and I who are diehard Sox fans that WE BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, about me. Been a Sox fan all my life, born into it basically to piss my grandpa off who's a Yankees fan. I plan to start AAA ball next season somewhere in the Pacific Coast League (2008). I probably have the largest amount of Red Sox stuff in the state.... my entire left wall is Red Sox cards from the past to present. I even have an old Paper Card of Yaz that is even autographed by him! I've got some Ted Williams cards, and autographed Curt Schilling ball, and loads of other BoSox stuff.. Anyway, I'll be here EVERYDAY! GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for all you New Englanders, this site is WICKED AWESOME!
