WTF is lacking doing back out there? Tito pulls Lester at 93 pitches when he is dominating but put lackey back out with ~90 pitches when he's throwing BP and has given up 6 runs the last 2 innings? Seriously, f*** Tito. A coma patient would make better on-field decisions. And a 2-run bomb. f*** YOU TITO. WTF did you think would happen? 6-run deficit not enough for you? Jesus. Theo, rattle things up and fire Tito. He's KILLING this team.

My problem is that there is ZERO evidence that putting players on pitch counts actually does anything helpful. If they are feeling good and dominating, you let them pitch. If they are tiring, then pull them. It's not spring training, we shouldn't be worrying about "lasting the season". Win this game, then worry about tomorrow.

I just don't get Tito or this pitch count management philosophy. Leave them out there while they are getting hammered, pull them early when they are dominating.... WTF. He's not a rookie, he can handle throwing 100+ pitches every outing. f***ing stupid.

So that brings me to this question: Has there been a single Japanese import that actually sustained a moderate to high level of success in the majors? I can't think of a one.

On Paper... This team still has a ton of question marks, especially for the pitching: Lackey - he wasn't very good last year, especially against the Yankees. Becket - his 2007 season is in the very distant past. Since then he's been a completely different pitcher. Who's to say he'll become dominant again. Anyways, he's never been dominant against the yankees sans a few outliers. Dice-K : Do I even need to say anything? Buchholz: While I think he will have a bright future, he's still has a lot to prove. A regression to an average pitcher wouldn't shock me (not saying I'm expecting that). Pappelbon: The closer who has gotten progressively worse year after year. Bard: Still has a lot to prove and needs improvement with location. Everybody else is a collection of has beens, hopefullys, or never was. I hope they can get solid work from Jenks, Wheeler, and one other, but who knows. As for the lineup, Pedroia and Youk are both coming off injuries. JD Drew is getting older and can't hit lefties. Cameron is old and coming off injuries. Ellsbury is coming off an injury and is still relatively unproven. The catcher position is a disaster and I highly doubt Scutaro can put up another career year. And Ortiz isn't getting any younger. Now, that being said, I do think this offense has amazing potential. I do think Pedroia and Youk will be fine. I do think Ortiz will still get 25+ bombs. But the rest are question marks (of course not Gonzo...) Our starting rotation is incredibly over-rated.

To be fair, our pitching has been god-awful other than today. It's a team wide problem right now.
