  1. While it's fun watching Ortiz take swings at that POS Gregg, I'd rather see his bat in the lineup than sit on the bench with a suspension. Ugh.
  2. RBI triple for Reddick. What more does this kid have to do to get more playing time of Dmac and the other junk?
  3. Why else would they pull him after just 68 pitches. I really hope this is just precautionary. If he's injured, our trainer has to be fired.
  4. An AWSOME start to this game so far, so I don't want to sound negative, but why the hell is DMac in the lineup over Reddick? 2011 vs LHP: Reddick: 8 for 11, HR, 1.750 OPS DMac: 7 for 45 , .156 BA, .519 OPS The fact that DMac has more than 4 times as many ABs as Reddick is ridiculous. Stop giving that scrub playing time! Reddick deserves it, he's better, younger, has more potential, not to mention has actually been really productive! God tito!
  5. What a great combination. HR derby at Fenway while sipping some Double Galaxy from Hill Farmstead. What a night.
  6. Oh, It's JD at the plate. NVM. But wait, he was part of it the last time... Maybe?...
  7. 3 Straight!!!!!!!!!! How about 4? http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=10884791
  8. REDDICK!!!!! I hope when Crawford comes back, Reddick takes Drew's place in RF.
  9. This HP umpire needs glasses. I hate the officiating in sports right now.
  10. I don't see Crawford, Ellsbury, or JD making that play. Dmac made a strong throw right on target. Sure, he could have placed it in a 1 foot target in the perfect spot, but be realistic, that RARELY ever happens. A quick (set up), strong throw to the general target (within easy reaching range) is above average. It's a lot harder than you think. Give credit were it's due.
  11. Oh WTF. Another f***ing injury? 2010 Redux. This is ********. This team needs a new trainer.
  12. This. I can't stand all the talking heads/Boston media who keep saying "But with the injuries, they have no one else, they have to just pain through it." ********. There's a load of talent (according to Theo) in the minors. Do it.
  13. Oh really? Just the Jays... 4/2 vs TEX - 9ER in 3.2 IP 4/8 vs NYY - 6ER in 5 IP 5/5 vs LAA - 8ER in 4 IP 5/11 vs TOR - 9ER in 6.2 IP 6/22 vs SDP - 5ER in 3.1 IP and of course 7/4 vs TOR - 7 in 2.1 IP 46% of his starts he's given up 5 or more runs. Last year, 27% of his starts he gave up 5+ runs. That's not good... Just for a comparison, in Beckett's trainwreck season last year, he gave up 5+ ER in 33% of his starts, close to what Lackey did last year and not even close to as bad as he is this year. Should you compare the two? Yes, the team pays them nearly the same. Lackey has been a train wreck for the Sox so far, there's no debate. We paid him to be an Ace and he's been one of the worst starters in the majors.
  14. Tito is the ONLY manager I've ever seen who just leaves a pitcher in there when it's OBVIOUS that they got NOTHING. 3HR in 2 innings, hits galore, and Tito yet again waits for 7 f***ing runs to pull the guy. I've seen managers pull guys in the 2nd after giving up just1 run when they clearly don't have anything. Thats SMART. Why put yourself in a big hole when you could go to a better option? This whole notion of "Save the bullpen, it's more important than 1 win" just doesn't make sense because those losses add up FAST. You have to give your team a chance to win. End of story. f*** YOU tito. (and Lackey of course!).
  15. Pedroia, trying to be a hero, strikeouts. Shoulda walked little buddy.
  16. 2-0 on Pedroia. Wallk and let A-God win it!
  17. How about we just cut him? Worst contract ever.
  18. Sorry, but that just doesn't stand up. 1. The BIGGEST impact he could have is in a situation where the bases are loaded. You have to go with the opportunity you have. 2. Why wait? Why does it matter if it's only the 7th? You have an opportunity to close the gap, tie it, or even take the lead. You might not have that opportunity later. It doesn't matter when you take the lead, a run is run! Why can't people understand this! So lets recap: you have the biggest potential impact situation (Bases loaded, no outs) and you decided NOT to go to your best hitter on the bench so that you can reserve him for later when he might not have a chance to make a big impact (Ie, bases empty w/ a 2 run deficit). It's just not smart. Finally, lets address the "But what about the 9th inning, 2 down situation". The best way to avoid that situation is to do exactly the opposite of what you are defending. Putting Papi in that spot (7th, no outs, down a few runs, bases loaded) will, in the long run, give you the most runs, thus minimizing the need to make a big 9th inning comeback.
  19. I'm working through a growler of Red Giant (Element Brewing, MA nanabrewery), 8.00% ABV, pretty much alone (drinking buds don't feel like it tonight... lame). I'm sure that will get the job done quick enough.
  20. f***. This is pathetic. Tito needs to stop putting out garbage in the lineup.
  21. Career after a 1-2 count: .227 .267 .389 .656
  22. Can Gonzalez be a super-human here? I think he can... I hope he can...
  23. Ugh, swung at ball 3. Oh well, he can't be perfect...
