  1. 6 innings. The *unmentioned countdown begins. *keep it unmentioned. Keep it in your head, no jinxs. Yes, even I'm avoiding the jinx...
  2. AWESOME COCO. Way to keep it alive. Alright Schilling, I don't want to see another drive like that. Wow, 103 consecutive errorless games for Coco. That's impressive. Alright guys, lets quit it with the pitching comments...
  3. I'm pretty sure it just means no hits or walks. I could be wrong, but I don't think an error counts. I'll check. Edit: you're right, no one can reach base. Damn, that sucks. Errors shouldn't and don't count in my book.
  4. 4-pitch walk to Ortiz. Nice way to start the inning. Lets cash in on walks for a change. Blanton is getting up there in his pitch count and Manny has been swinging well against him. Put up some crooked numbers.
  5. I have always had no problem talking about these types of pitching performances, but today I won't mention it. And PS, your second sentence is incorrect, an error doesn't do anything. All that matters is the hit and walk column...
  6. Lets just hope Lugo's error doesn't make a difference...
  7. Sometimes Manny makes me nervous out about his defense... Almost overran that, nice recovery though. This thread is dead, there was more going on before the game. Is everyone at work or something?
  8. Yep, Arizon should be a good trip; Beckett, Matsuzaka, and Wake against a fairly weak lineup. It should come down to our offense.
  9. Is it OK for me to mention anything about our pitching so far? :dunno:
  10. Yea, I wouldn't mind that. I love Coco's defense, he has saved a few games with his glove, but he can't get anything done offensively. It's reaching that point. WMP has been showing progress at the plate and in the field, so I'm down with WMP starting more often.
  11. Did Oakland also retire Ecks number? Nope, thats the lineup I would like to see most.
  12. Another groundout. Do you guys think it's just a funk or that Oakland pitching has really done a good job to get soo many groundouts/DP?
  13. What the heck just happened there? Thank god nancy didn't get injured:lol: Ok, maybe a little too harsh, but seriously, what the heck was that? Nice quick inning for Schilling. Didn't get that last FB as high as Tek wanted, but I'll take the out. Lets put up some crooked numbers now!
  14. You know, even though it was a 65MPH knuckleball, I still don't think I would have the balls to TRY and get hit.
  15. Hey ORS, where did you get that Ortiz smilie from?
  16. This is exactly what I like to see from our 3-4. HR and single. Nice nice. Time for ... JD... I thought he was getting dropped in the lineup?
  17. Thats what I'm talking about, Papi puts us on the board first. It's a party! http://planetsmilies.net/party-smiley-17172.gif
  18. I think Lugo should change his middle name to groundout. Julio Groundout Lugo. He grounds out almost twice as much as he flysout and it seems that half of his RBI's have come from groundouts.
  19. What we need is a clean victory. Get runs early so Schilling can settle in and just worry about getting outs. Let's get back to our winning ways before heading out to the desert.
  20. ORS you are right. It is within the realm of realistic for JD Drew to get hot enough to end at .280, but it is also in the realm or realistic for him not too. I guess the only real answer and the only thing that really matters is WHO THE f*** KNOWS. I wish him well and thats about all that can be said.
  21. You have to remember, 90% of the time, a player wont play above their career average after a slump. If a player slumps for the first 2 months of the season, it is most likely that if they are to break out of the slump, that they hit at their career averages, so Drew would hit around .280. If he does that, He will end the season around .260 average, so on. Expecting a player to play WAY above their career numbers just to meet those numbers at the end of the season is HIGHLY unrealistic.
  22. Say he does manage to finish the season around .280 with 15HR and 380OBP. Is that really worth $14 million? I mean, he really is only worth 20HR max and has only hit 100RBI's once, so what exactly is he getting $14 million for? For $14 million, I want to see more production.
  23. Its just too bad about Coco. I really think he would have turned into a good, maybe great, leadoff hitter. Instead this injury f***ed his swing up.
  24. There is nothing wrong with Dixon, keep him. Romero and Pineiro have to go though. Timlin and Delcarmen/Hansen should be in the pen.
