  1. Just because he is fit, doesn't mean his is capable of not being a 36M dollar waste at SS. But maybe by some stroke of luck or Steroid use, he can put together a few good weeks so the Sox can ship him out of town. Not me, unless the cloned Hanley and stuck Lugo's face on it.
  2. Sign the top 3 free agents, total shocker and something the Yankees have never done before:lol: So insightful on your behalf;)
  3. Good game all around. Hopefully they can build off of this and get the momentum going. Excellent job by Kottaras today as well.
  4. Sorry I guess I should have said Tek hasn't been relevant with his bat since about the half way point of his career, the last passable year being 05:D 4 seasons ago And don't give me the AS argument. He was on the squad last season when he had absolutely no right being there.
  5. I have my worries about him. He should not be the 3rd hitter anymore regardless. He just isn't the hitter he was, and probably never will be. If things continue to slide in Boston, a major shake up in the linep could be in order. And if he doesn't like it too Fing bad, find someone other team that will let him bat 3rd. Don't get me wrong, love me some Papi, but no one is going to stick around forever, and if the team can get better so be it.
  6. I see where your coming from Kilo. But given who else was available, Lowell seemed like the better signing at the time. But yes the Sox FO seemed to bend a little more for him after his WS MVP performance. But that was then this is now, I'd give him a little more time before casting him aside.
  7. Now it might be a time to worry a little. I think he is having shoulder issues. Which some of us said earlier in the off season could be an issue. They should have capitalized on his value and traded him this off season:D
  8. Holy sweet flying f***! How did we miss that?
  9. I usually tend to agree with most of your opinions, but this statement is ridiculous:lol:
  10. There is a few names above Hansack on the depth chart I think...
  11. Hopefully Dice-K will show something positive tonight.
  12. So your argument is based on 4 good seasons out of 12? The last one coming in 05.
  13. Renteria was more of an issue in the field then anything else. His bat wasn't what was predicted, but it was decent
  14. This subject will only cease when the Sox have a SS that produces at a rate greater then that of O-Cab. Until then someone is going to bring it up occasionally. That and a lot of people probably think a long the lines of(not directed at you RS, but just some fans in general), SS is one of the most important positions(maybe it's not technically, but I would imagine that's the popular assumption among the average fans of baseball) on the field, and the Red Sox are one of the biggest franchises, ergo the Sox should have a top SS playing for them. And until this happens, will most likely continue to complain about the shortcomings of the current SS.
  15. And most likely continue to be unless they trade for someone who is already established at the dish.
  16. Haven't been able to watch most of the West Coast games since they start at 4am here, but the team seems very flat. The offense has been unspectacular, a long with the SP(outside of Beckett and Penny, both have looked positive so far). But I don't believe the Sox to be a sub par .500 team, so I'm sure they will heat up at some point. Let's be thankful that TB and The Yanks have started slow, and that Toronto and Baltimore are 1/2 in the standings.
  17. Well Nick Green has 2 weeks to shine and make a name for himself.
  18. Tek has never been wonderful with the bat. And I never expect him to be. But he gave a reason to be optimistic about him. But if he hit's .200 I won't be shocked. Beckett looks healthy, i won't go too overboard since it was his first start, just like Lester and Dice-K, but he showed flashes of 2007 Beckett. Youkilis is carrying the offense. Maybe the warm California weather will get the bats going. Lester looked good, not great. But you can't be on everyday. Dice-K looked uninspiring, but it is his first start, I'll try and reserve judgment for now. Ramon Ramirez has some sick stuff. Oki was very shaky. Lowell looked like he is recovering well.
  19. No more worried then I was before. It's also one start. If it becomes a trend then I am more worried. I've also said I wouldn't be opposed to a Dice-K trade if it brought in a big time player. But in the end he is what he is, and he's better then most teams#3 SP. So I try not to complain too much.
  20. Nice play by Lowell:D
  21. Dice-K is becoming painful to watch. Remy had it right, not one of his 8 pitches looked sharp. Garza with a very nice outing.
  22. What a shame. Why are people in such a f***ing hurry? Thoughts and Prayers to all the family's involved.
  23. Lost my ass, more like it was bedtime. And the fact you chose Lost over a game in which TB was in/winning tells a lot.
