  1. Soxprospects.com got the information from the same link that AZBlue got his.
  2. With J.D. Drew officially in the Sox 40 man roster the Sox waive Lenny Dinardo which is claimed by the A's.
  3. The Australian baseball web pages are reporting that the Red Sox have signed Australian RHP David Harriott. Hariott is 6-2 174 born on 2/ 18 /90.
  4. 25- Christian Lara SS 24- Mark Wagner C 23- Ryan Phillips LHP 22- Jed Lowrie 2B 21- Lars Anderson 1B 20- Caleb Clay RHP 19- Carlos Fernandez LF 18- David Murphy CF 17- Kris Johnson LHP 16- Chad Spann 3B 15- Devern Hansack RHP 14- Luis Soto RF 13- Brandon Moss RF 12- Justin Masterson RHP 11- Kyle Jackson RHP 10- George Kotaras C 09- Bryson Cox RHP 08- Felix Doubront LHP 07- Daniel Bard RHP 06- Edgar Martinez RHP 05- Dustin Pedroia 2B 04- Jason Place RF 03- Michael Bowden RHP 02- Clay Buchholz RHP 01- Jacoby Ellsbury CF
  5. You ask for it, here is. After some adjustments; 50- Kris Negron SS 49- Claudio Arias LF 48- Luis Sumoza RF 47- Jeff Natale 2B 46- Reid Engel CF 45- Matt Goodson RHP 44- Jeff Corsoletti LF 43- Tom Hottovy LHP 42- Ryan Kalish CF 41- Tyler Weeden C 40- Moises Tejada SS 39- Angel Beltre CF 38- Dustin Richardson LHP 37- Chih-Hsien Chiang 2B 36- Mike Jones 1B 35- Chris Jones RHP 34- Luis Exposito C 33- Chis Turner LF 32- Manuel Arrambaris 3B 31- Aaron Bate 1B 30- Yahmed Yema OF 29- Miguel Socolovitch RHP 28- Jon Egan C 27- Michael Rozier LHP 26- Jose Capellan LHP
  6. Thank You, I don't see how anyone would be paying for those rankings, Scout.com can't handle the domestic stuff, I don't want to see if they had to do the Latin leagues.
  7. Pichardo is a second baseman, Pedro Chourio who is also 16 yrs, but Venezuelan is the third baseman. Like you know not one knows for sure how 16 yrs would handle themselves, but in pure baseball talent Chourio is the best hitter and Rivera the best pitcher.
  8. Third base its the weakest position in the Red Sox system, Andrew Pinkney isn't just the #2 third base prospect on the system, Manuel Arrambaris who will play in Greenville this years is, Pinkney has some tools like a strong arm and has some pop on his bat, but he isn't a Red Sox top 50 propsect. the same can be said about John Otness, Otness has made some stride as a catcher after being a corner infielder, but his defense as a catcher isn't any better than average at best, as a hitter he can hit for average, but lacks power, he has always been old for the level that he has played. Otness would be playing in Portland this year and we need to see how he performs, but at this time he isn't a top 50 prospect.
  9. Some of the elite prospects of the organization will be reporting to the minor league camp about the same time that the big leaguers will, the rest of the minor league pitchers and catchers will report March second with the rest of the squad a few days later. There aren't many changes in managers and coaches in the system, but Victor Rodriguez comes in to camp as the new hitting coordinator replacing Orv Franchuk 9who didn't do a good job) Ralph Truel returns as the pitching coordinator after a year as Boston bull pen coach and Bruce Crabbe is the infield coordinator fulltime after being a partimer and Lowell manager.
  10. A international player who hasn't signed (at least to my knowledge) is Dominican catcher Moises Montero. Montero is a 6-2 215 17 yrs right handed hitter, as a catcher Montero has a gun for an arm and also a quick release. The early phase ( July second to end of August) of international scouting has been very popular and so let me drop a couple of names to watch LHP Israel Perez and RHP Jesus Valdez-Adames. Perez is 6-2 180 while Valdez-Adames is 6-3 170, they are both Dominican who just turned 16 yrs and have a fastball in the 87 range.
  11. No, No I don't have nothing to do with Soxprospects.com, but i do have a thread of the Sox top 50 prospects in the minor league section of this page.
  12. Crespo; The Sarasota-Tampa area has always been a great area for prospects. I am not very familiar with those players, but its way early in the scouting season. I am naming a few prospects in that area, you may have heard them. Michael Burguess OF Hillsborough H.S.- Tampa Nevin Griffith RHP Middleton H.S.-Brandon Tommy Toledo RHP Alonzo H.S.-Tampa Kevin Quackenbush RHP Tampa Jesuit H.S. Hunter Oven OF Cardinal Mooney H.S.- Bradenton Evan Stobb-Bulteman 1B/3B Sarasota Todd Brazeal 3B/RHP Tampa Chambaerlain H.S. Joseph Terdoslavich 3b/C Sarasota Those are the top players in the area coming into the baseball season.
  13. If anyone is a international scouting fan like i am, will know the number of Cuban players that has been signed this fall, below its a list of Cuban players who haven't signed, but did played in the Nicaraguan Winter league. OF- Ryde Rodriguez 6-2 230 S/H 19 yrs RHP- Yamel Guevara 6-2 210 23 yrs RHP- Dunieske Flores 6-6 195 19 yrs RHP- Esdibel Benitez 6-3 200 22 yrs RHP- Maykel Nenninger 6-3 200 24 yrs RHP- Julio Villalon 6-2 175 28 yrs OF- Markel Jova 6-0 205 R/R 26 yrs IF - Yosvany Almario 5-11 190 R/R 26 yrs One of the problem with Cuban players is that they haven't play in an organized league for about 2 years before they played in the Nicaraguan league. the dictatorship goverment of Castro won't let play players that might wanted leave the island.
  14. While the High school baseball season hasn't started, two prospects that has been the talk of the scouting community they are Texa's LHP Jack McGeary and Puerto Rican OF Angel Morales, neither where considered first round picks after last school year, but it may be another matter this coming June. Mc Geary has shown this past fall a fast ball in the 94 range and Morales a potential for five tools.
  15. Jackson the Sox system isn't lacking depth, just a bad players rating by scout.com.
  16. Like i posted before middle infielders except high schoolers aren't the strength of this draft and this its a very good draft going into the baseball season. At this point Price is the #1 pick of this draft.
  17. I don't understand your post, you contradicts yourself.
  18. I think that you are confusing the 06 Schilling to the 04, not even close and if he is a #3 or 4 starter those kind of starters don't make that kind of money. Most of the Red Sox fans are players fan, i am a fan of the name in the front rather than the name on the back.
  19. Do you think he would sign for a back up job in two years? I don't think he will, specially with Boras as an agent.
  20. Because Tek is making 10 millions for the next two year and its very unlikely that he wouldn't sign for less, and a 36 yrs Tek isn't worthed that kind of money specially when hhis bat started to show signs of a decline.
  21. With the start of the college baseball season its time to get back in this thread and if my time will allow I will be posting updates. One of the hottest names coming into this college season is Fresno state outfielder Ozzie lewis. lewis is a 6-5 210 21 yrs R/R who potentially has 5 tools, all of his tools are above average and it may not surprise to many that he be an early first round pick.
  22. Wakefield is a different pitcher out of the pen than a starter, he may be to inconsistent to be a reliever. In my opinion Wakefield will be a starter (health issues not pending) for the next two years (2007 and 2008). Again Schilling isn't the pitcher that he was in 2004, even in crazy market 13 millions a year for his decline in pitching is too much.
