  1. This umpire flat out sucks. Wow
  2. Yeah, but I dont like Burnett or Pettitte in the pen and Hughes would be much better than Vazquez in filling our setup role. We need another reliever or some bolstering from the rotation. I think there is a VERY strong possibility that Hughes is back there in the playoffs.
  3. I think that is what the Lee deal would have done, shored up the back end of the pen. Lee to the rotation, Hughes to the setup role. Joba looks like a deer in headlights
  4. umps screw us on Robby Cano's AB. That sucks
  5. Vazquez would have shut down anyone with his stuff tonight. He was really fricking good. The change and curve were working and he was operating on the plus side of 90 all night. Although Girardi tried to f*** everything up by leaving him out there too long, but 7 scoreless
  6. No-no broken up in the 6th by Ichiro, although it probably was an error from Javy
  7. Javy Vazquez has been untouchable tonight
  8. Gardner getting thrown out is annoying
  9. Exactly. I think the sox knew they would sign Brentz and Vitek while being able to negotiate with Workman and Ranaudo. If those guys want too much, the sox can forgo the pick and get a supp and a 2nd rounder next yr to offset any major signings they make in the off season. Not a bad strategy when the following yrs draft is expected to be special
  10. You can fix it all you want, but Theo is gonna have to pony up some unprecedented dough for a supp pick. And it sounds like Workman wants a ton of cash as well
  11. If you mean rotation wise, I find that hard to believe. You have a legitimate ace in Lester, a solid young pitcher in unprecedented territory and then a bunch of questionmarks. Will Beckett be healthy? Does Lackey really suck this much? And then the middle relief is almost comical. You dont match up with CC, Pettitte, Burnett, Hughes and if Vazquez continues to be solid and Hughes moves to the pen, then we have the pen edge too. Its about time to realize that this Yankee team is equipped to be better than anyone in the playoffs. It is all a matter of playing to potential
  12. the sox are staring at a 6 game deficit if the Yankees win tonight with DiceK throwing tomorrow and the Yankees throwing CC vs Rowland-Smith. There is a very real chance the sox are down 6 or 7 games by the ASB
  13. God may not know his stats, but I do... 9-5 4.78ERA 1.60WHIP
  14. My guess is that he re-enters the draft, IMO. There isnt a guy like Strasburg or Harper in the works for next yr and a guy with his size and stuff could command $5-6 mil or more as a top 1 or 2 pick. I doubt the sox bend to Boras' wishes. Although, next yrs draft class is supposed to be pretty solid, but they lack that marquee name at the top
  15. Gary Sanchez hit his second grand slam of his young career yesterday and drove in 5. He now has 4HR and 20RBI in 15 games to go along with 5 doubles and 8 walks. He apparently is mowing them down on the basepaths as well, but has allowed his fair share of passed balls. His line on the season is up to.... .393/.470/.696 for a 1.166OPS and he will be 17 for the entire season.
  16. And a new stadium with amenities that fit today's bodies wouldnt be a place for fans? That's ridiculous
  17. Hughes righted the ship a bit, Tex is on fire and the Yankees keep rolling. The Yankees are 5-0 in the second half and gained a game on the Rays last night. We run into a buzzsaw tonight in Hernandez, hopefully Javy can keep us close
  18. Romero got POUNDED again. Interesting.
  19. Haren would, though, but he isnt the player Lee is
  20. Well, we benefit a little tonight. Hughes starts vs David Pauley instead of Lee
  21. Yep, they are the frontrunners. And it is pretty obvious that he wants to hit the market. Glad we DIDNT consummate this deal. In 6 months, we'll be right where we are today in the Lee sweeps. Also, we get to keep Montero and Adams. Both of those guys are gonna have good big league futures. McAllister, I have no problem with dealing, cause I dont see him being a big part on the big league club
  22. Mario Chalmers slides into the starting PG role with Dwyane Wade at the SG, Lebron at SF, Bosh at PF and Beasley as the 6th man. They just need a big who can stand in the paint. Plus, I like their draft picks especially in the roles they'll be manning now. Dude, this Heat team is gonna challenge Chicago's regular season record
  23. The C's got Jermaine O'Neal, who is wayy past his prime. And with the C's old and grey, this Miami team will shitstomp them.
  24. suns, the cavs suck balls now and will be in the lottery
  25. Also, Cleveland goes from being the beast of the east to being one of the worst teams in basketball
