  1. Div, he's looked terrible and he's looked old. The good thing is, we didnt need vintage Jeter to make the playoffs and it should help in negotiations
  2. and with him approaching 50 pitches, he wont be available for Tampa!
  3. how did Kalish not break his arm there? Jeez, that looked awful
  4. Yeah he is. 30 pitches and only one out. I have a feeling Paps is gonna blow this one. Figures, the one time I actually want the sox to win
  5. I think I might have a heart attack from typing this, but.... GO RED SOX. A win tonight means the sox might be more energized going into the TB series. A sweep vs Tampa would all but secure home field for us. Cmon sox, I am rooting for a 4 game win streak!
  6. As a Yankee fan, I hope the sox sweep the Rays and put their best foot forward. But if I were a sox fan, all I would care about is the long term health of my club and for next season.
  7. Hughes results werent there today, but his FB had better movement, his change looked okay and his curve looked good. The Jays hit 2 bad pitches.
  8. he's been a soldier through pain. They should shut him down
  9. Good sleeper pick. He's holding his own as a 19yr old in the long season leagues. When he fills out, he should start hitting for a bit more power.
  10. The most embarassed you have been and you've been a fan for 30 yrs? Dude, your team got decimated by injuries. Even if they made the playoffs, they would be out in the first round. This team is getting the mercy kill treatment out of the way so you can focus on the Pats
  11. The sox have nothing to play for, why would you change the schedule of a young arm for the worse? This makes no sense
  12. I think Joba, Wood and Robertson are going to split the duties to be honest with you. The past 2 days we have seen everyone since our starters have sucked, but in games where you need 1 inning before Mo, my guess is the hot hand. BTW, Wood is making it very interesting for the offseason. Should we try to keep him?
  13. That starts in the minors or in college. Our pitchers always scouted other teams in the area, charted pitches, etc. Not only does it help to know what an opposing pitcher goes to in the clutch, but it also keeps the pitchers heads in the game and potentially gives them ideas for when they pitch. Plus, nobody is better than a pitcher at seeing if someone is tipping pitches
  14. The trolls are sharpening their teeth. Just wait
  15. Exactly. Lefty up, and you bring in Moseley?
  16. But Pettitte has flirted with retirement every season AND he has left before. So, it isnt too much for Yankee nation to see him ride off into the sunset again. I actually wouldnt mind seeing him pull a Clemens, to be totally honest. Relax and workout at home for the first 3 months of the yr, and if the rotation falls apart, make a call to Houston
  17. Well, one of the things Pettitte always brought was stability. We didnt need ace performance from him since he's returned. We've needed a guy who can take the bump 30 times a yr and give us above average performance. Well, this yr has been the anti-Andy yr. He's been very, very good, but fragile. He'll be 39 next yr, and he is set to miss 8 weeks in his yr 38 season. How durable will he be next season? That's the thing. Nova is ready to make the jump. Brackman, Phelps, Mitchell, Noesi and Warren will be in AAA. Betances, Banuelos, Stoneburner, Garcia, and Bleich should be in AA. That is a deep 10, even if two are coming off surgery (Bleich and Garcia). At some point, you gotta give em a chance
  18. If we get Lee, I dont see us dishing out another 8 figure contract for Andy. You'd have 4 spots in the rotation locked up long term and a system brimming with pitching prospects ready to make the move.
  19. what happened to the other mods?
  20. Pettitte should be back soon. He threw a 50 pitch sim game with no trouble. He should have a rehab start next week and might be back in 2 weeks assuming he feels well. Javy is the odd man out
  21. :thumbdown Javy hasnt changed
