  1. He has been one of the teams best players, however you slice it. It definitely helps him that Tex was useless for 2 months and 2 of the Yankee stalwarts are having career worst seasons.
  2. I meant in rating. He has by no means the best arm in terms of power. He might be the most accurate arm in the bigs though. He puts the ball right on the base almost every time
  3. They looked overhead and it split the plate and they did the side camera and it crossed at the belt. Not sure where it missed
  4. He was something like +14 runs in arm rating this yr. SO yeah, continue trying to debunk everything I am saying, but the stats back me up. All that backs you up is bias and bitterness.
  5. Take a look at his arm rating. He doesnt have a lot of power, but he is incredibly accurate
  6. Tex with the glove. 7 innings of 1 hit ball. Would be nice if we could get 1 f***ing run!
  7. Yeah, apparently splitting the plate belt high is a ball
  8. For ORS, Yeah, you're right. I should have said overall yr for a position player
  9. SO you disagree with WAR but use it when it suits you?
  10. ARod shouldnt be in the 4 hole. He is miserable right now
  11. No, I dont. But he could be having the second best offensive yr. I could believe that
  12. ARod's slider speed bat just cannot reach Price's fastball. Time to get back on the juice
  13. Well, he's one of the best defensive LFers in the game with one of the best arms. He reaches base 39% of the time and he steals 40 bases. Might be that you are undervaluing him
  14. Yep, WAR doesnt lie. And Gardner could move to RF or CF and Grandy could move to RF. Regardless, Berkman can play LF, which gives us some options
  15. The guy who should win it and the guy who does is typically pretty far apart. I know that most people dont like wins for a pitcher in terms of evaluating their merit, but they are important when considering CY votes.
  16. CC has been money tonight
  17. David Price has been pretty good as well and CC has to get some votes too.
  18. in a yr or two? You watching right now?
  19. Gardner has been one of the best players on the team. Grandy is pulling his weight, especially of late. Kearns is a 4th OFer, he'd be the one to worry about. But Swish at DH doesnt really change too much aside from maybe moving Berkman to the bench or to LF.
  20. Absolutely was, no doubt about it.
  21. doesnt sound like it should knock him out for the yr, but definitely something that could relegate him to DH duty
  22. Correct, but pitching has the advantage most of the time anyway and the big change from metal to wood works in their favor too
  23. Thanks for putting it the way I meant it. The Yankees and Sox hit the wall when they have a player who has the stuff to dominate AAA but lacks the polish to pitch well in the bigs. Those guys do not benefit from AAA and need to learn the trade at the big league level, which is something that just cannot happen in NY or Boston
  24. Not what I meant. I meant that the Yankees and Sox dont have the time to allow a guy to develop at the big league level. They need to be near finished products when they make it to the bigs.
  25. Its a bunch of college guys swinging wood against the best competition in the game. The Cape always seems to invite the best power pitchers to the dance, and couple that with a transition to wood, there is much less scoring. In Ranaudo's case, he showed he was healthy. The biggest thing about Ranaudo is that he reminds me a lot of Brackman. Big guy with a 1-2 punch that is out of this world, but injuries and windup repetition will be their biggest detractors. I think both end up in the pen long term since their respective teams dont have the time to groom them the right way as starters.
