  1. Yankees promoted Zoilo Almonte last week to AA. The kid was raking in Tampa with 12HR, 14SB, and an OPS near .900. He just turned 22, so he's right on track in terms of age.
  2. Ellsbury might use Crawford's contract as a starting point when he hits FA
  3. Orioles BABIP vs Miller, .125. 6 walks to only 3K's in under 6IP is not a solid outing. Vs a better club, he doesnt make it out of the 2nd
  4. The Astros did it to the Yanks
  5. They dont want "to be rid of Montero." Where are you hearing that? Cashman has essentially said that he, Banuelos, Betances and Romine arent available. Thing is, the only time you hear the Yanks in talks, it is about a guy who should command Montero as the headliner. We arent talking about Montero for Dempster, we're hearing Montero for Ubaldo
  6. He had a back injury that he was rehabbing. Then during his rehab, he decided to race on a bicycle, fell and broke his collarbone. They werent too pleased to hear that the guy who was rehabbing a back injury was racing bikes, so they DFA'd him off the 40 man with hopes of resigning him to a MiLB deal and having him work his way back. Once DFA'd, though, Aceves got upset and walked.
  7. He sprained an ankle from what I gather. He'll likely miss one or two starts
  8. Defensive f***ing shitshow.
  9. This is when Robertson should be used. Why stick him in the 8th when he won't have a lead to protect
  10. Joke of a f***ing stadium
  11. And girardi waits one batter too long again
  12. Jeter needs to get out of the leadoff spot. Gardner is far superior
  13. Saw a lot more breaking pitches and changeups. In the second, he looked like he lost velo, but I am not sure if he was throwing changeups. Regardless, max around 94mph, sitting 92mph with a ton of movement and a bunch of 2 seamers that I will call changeups that are in the 87 range seem to be throwing the batters off. He looks good tonight. We need him to keep that up, but hopefully his 2 start shitfest was just a blip
  14. He was great for the Yankees. Cashman let emotion get involved when he cut him and it has come back to burn him. Would be really nice to see him in a Yankee uniform this yr. He was very valuable in our run to the title in 2009 and was our Ramiro Mendoza that yr. Having a guy who can effectively save a bad start from your starter or give you valuable innings late in games is pretty good.
  15. y228, I think it's too early to be rooting for the playoff berth and forsaking the division. Both teams could use the home field, as the sox are the best home team in the AL and the Yanks are the 4th best, behind Boston, Texas, and Cleveland, who are all in playoff position.
  16. Gumbs, Culver, Williams and plenty more make that a very interesting level for the Yanks this yr.
  17. Mason Williams lighting it up. 2 for 4 today with 2 doubles. Slash line up to .365/.397/.539 with 8SBs in 26 games. Kid needs a promotion
  18. I see Francona used his standard 7 run rule again
  19. And now Bad AJ has shown up. 4 batters, a walk, 2 singles, a double and 2 runs with 2 runners on. He better find something that works and quick
  20. Pena out 4-6 weeks due to an appendectomy. Not bad news IMO at all. Brandon Laird gets the call. Lots of pop, not much patience. Should be interesting to see. Hopefully he starts out hot
  21. You rarely see a deal where a top 10 guy and another top 50-100 guy go in the other direction. Montero would be a huge haul for anyone, even though he's been less than stellar this yr. Remember, he's 21 repeating AAA. I doubt that any deal gets done where Montero plus Betances or Banuelos gets done.
