The statistic is flawed if Lackey was worth $6 million last yr. Completely flawed. Then CC was worth $50 million.

Crawford looked slow in all phases of the game. His bat speed seemed to diminish and he developed a gaping hole in his swing. His quickness on the basepaths appeared to diminish, be it fear or actual loss of speed, who knows. And in the OF, he looked lost, especially with a gazelle to his left in Ellsbury. This guy needs a lot more than a hitting coach. He needs to remember that what made his game great was his hustle and his lack of fear. He looked like a timid little mouse out there, but in Tampa, he looked like a world beater. If he cannot regain that edge again, he'll be useless. Yes, the Yanks are embarassing, going 5 games against a team that was hot going into the playoffs. The Yankees got f***ed by the rain issue and by the injury bug. ARod played down to his sexual orientation due to his injuries. And something was wrong with Tex. He looked abysmal. You create a hole in your lineup from spots 4-6 and you're not gonna win, period

Gammons hasnt been a great reporter in quite some time. He's typically wrong with his predictions of late and it seems like a lot of his sources have dried up. He's the old guy you can sit back and listen to talk for awhile, but most of his new s*** is unfounded. My guess is the sox get money, but no prospects. If the problem is the culture in the clubhouse, then they need to purge themselves of some of the leaders in that clubhouse and they need to hire a gritty manager. I think this collapse sits pretty heavy with the sox franchise and if they arent able to change the culture, that team will do nothing. -
