  1. 4 of Overbay's 7HR were hit on the road. 3 of Hafner's 8 were hit on the road. These guys aren't stacking 320 foot bloopers in the stadium. When they're hitting them, they're going out of all parks. You want to harp on the cheapy homers, harp on Gardner
  2. Right, but Drew isn't there just for defense. If you are going to go just for D, you go with Iglesias. You are going with Drew because the guy could hit in his prime. The problem is, he isn't hitting for s***
  3. I know it wont last, I'm just giving you s***
  4. The sox are going to be a .500 team by the ASB without reinforcements. 7-10 in their last 17 games and the pitching has finally started to revert to normal. The overall offensive numbers are pretty much where I thought they'd be. Papi, Pedroia, and Nava wont be hitting to the level that they are currently, but WMB and Ellsbury wont be hitting as terribly. It'll even out. Buchholz will hit a cold stretch as well.
  5. I'm actually dictating charts with the games on. It is rare that I am actually home, lol
  6. Jose Quintana has a no-hitter through 5 vs the Red Sox
  7. Hafner is finally healthy and doesn't have the weight of an entire fan base on his shoulders. Sometimes having no expectations is all a player needs to be good again. BTW, anyone who complained about Cashman should retract their hatred of him. I've been critical, but I liked what he was doing until last trade deadline. Thus far, I love what he's done this yr
  8. It isn't looking like Moran or Frazier are falling to you. Manaea was the wild card who was slotting into the top 6 or out of the top 10. Now that he is going to move back in the draft, I highly doubt those talents fall to you
  9. So he hasn't been perfect
  10. I've seen Shipley all over the first round, as far down as the Yankee selection in one mock. I don't think he lasts past the top 10, though
  11. BTW, I LOVE the recent mock by Jonathan Mayo for the Yankees. He has the Yankees getting HS C Jon Denney, HS LHP Rob Kaminsky and JuCo SS Tim Anderson with their 3 picks in the first round. Denney is a big bat whose defensive questions have seen him slide into the late 1st. I had seen him as high as #10 in the mocks. Kaminsky is a local HSer with perhaps the best curve in the entire draft. Add that to his low 90s heat and you have to wonder if he lasts as long as he is anticipated to last. And Anderson is a SS I have seen in the late 1st round as well who is markedly athletic and has a good bat, but a raw glove
  12. The mocks I am seeing lately have Moran going before the sox pick. Based on all the mocks, the consensus has Appel, Gray, Bryant, Frazier, Moran and Meadows going in that order. And for those junkies who love these mocks, here is a link to all of them... http://dcprosportsreport.com/MLBMocks.htm
  13. Yeah, he should retire, sound good. Really? His back is tight, it will pass. He might miss a start or even need 15 days on the DL. I'd still take him
  14. Ital, Mariano may be the best pitcher of all time. Kershaw might be in the equation by the time he's done
  15. What's the better word? I'm really asking, I like hyperbole. I could use some more vocab
  16. Well, the Yankees got shitstomped and saved the pen. Sometimes it is better to be able to turn off the game in the first and move on then have your heart broken late
  17. 7 runs with 2 outs. At least the ERA is dropping, lol. He's got nothing tonight
  18. Looks like Phil Hughes is trying to let the Mariners build a lead that we cannot overcome. Every pitch is either well off the plate or right down the cock
  19. He just reached 1000IP
  20. I don't know if everyone really understands how good this kid has been. He has the lowest career ERA for a starter with at least 1000IP in the live ball era
  21. There is no way on God's green earth that Ortiz gets in. His numbers are borderline, but his inclusion in the PED scandal will leave him out of it. Same with Pettitte
  22. And we win again. CC was good, not great. Our pen was dealing and Robertson escaped a tough jam with some luck. Mo just dominated. We did what we had to do with Felix and ate up a weaker pen. It was a nice win and a nice day to gain a game on the sox and the O's.
