  1. Vidal Nuno matches Moore through 6. This kid has been phenomenal for us. He mixes in 4 pitches that he can locate to all 4 quadrants. And for a soft tosser, he isn't afraid to crowd a hitter and pitch inside. He pitches like a 10 year vet, which is good since he has the fastball of a 40 yr old
  2. No doubt he is injury prone. But he shook off the tricep issue completely. Remember, injuries get amplified big time come the MLB draft. They'll pass on an elite talent if they have even a non-career threatening injury, especially a pitcher. He was dominant through the entirety of the pro levels until that fateful day in Texas. Since then, he hasn't been even close to the same
  3. Yep. He better step up, or he's done when Granderson eventually returns for good. I hope Adams learns LF a little and can get out there when Tex and Youk return next week
  4. Must be the MCP joint.
  5. No, his shoulder wasn't the question. It was the conditioning and a tricep injury late in his college season.
  6. The shoulder was the start of it all. Tommy John is recoverable. The ankle isn't the end of a career. But for a pitcher, a shredded shoulder is a real career changer. I am certain there is damage there, even though the MRI doesn't show it. The guy used to hit 100 with regularity. Now, he barely hits 95
  7. Before he got hurt in Texas, he was lights out as a starter. Once he got up to the appropriate pitch count, he started 9 games at a 100 pitch count... 54IP 46H 12ER 59K 18BB 2.00ERA 9.8K/9IP 1.18WHIP After that, he pitching in Texas and "inflamed" his shoulder and was never the same. During that run, he was lights out dominant and the best pitcher on the staff. Over time, had his shoulder actually been ready for the workload, I have no doubt he'd at least been on par with Brandon Morrow or Max Scherzer, guys with lights out fastballs and dominant stuff capable of striking out 10 a night. When he returned from that shoulder injury, he looked afraid to let it loose and that never shook. They f***ed him up completely
  8. Their "Joba rules" ruined him for life. Thing is, he was a lights out starter too, even in his first taste of starting in the bigs. But f***ing around with him took its toll on the shoulder and he was never the same
  9. Depends on the knuckle. I played through a fractured left 5th finger PIP joint in the CWS and dominated. You buddy tape it and you cannot even feel it. If it's the MCP joint, though, the integrity of the hand is in play and you have to rest it
  10. I didn't see the pitch. If it's the DIP or PIP joint, he could play through it. If it's the MCP, he's out 4-6 weeks
  11. That's the only way you get elite polished talent when picking at the back end of the draft every yr
  12. We're up 2 in the L column, which is really all that matters. And how am I getting rocked? Dude, we're still ahead of you guys with half our payroll on the DL. Regardless, Granderson left the game after being hit on the hand and Phelps just took a liner off his arm and went down.
  13. BA thinks Manaea is now going to fall far enough for the Yankees to get him in the supp round
  14. The weird thing is that he's been so consistently horrendous over his last 3 starts. It's almost like he got his ass handed to him vs Toronto then got bat shy. It's strange to see good control veteran pitchers lose it for more than one start. Every pitcher can have a bad game or have no control one day, but the veterans typically don't allow themselves to go out there for a second consecutive start and miss the plate again as badly as Dempster has.
  15. What are you talking about? McAllister is 9 starts into a season where he actually isn't terrible. He's a 5th starter and will regress to that point. Dumpster should have outpitched this kid
  16. Dempster is imploding. The guy looked to be pitching well through April, although his peripherals were a little interesting. ERA of 3.30 in April with an insane 43K in 30IP, but his walk rate was over 4 for that month. Fast forward to May where he is getting hit a little more (29H in 25.2IP), but the walk rate has multiplied. He's walked 24 in 25.2IP this month. Its strange since he's generally a pretty good control guy with a walk rate generally in the mid 3's per 9 innings. I wonder if it is mechanical, the league adjusting or an injury
  17. It'd practically be a perma ban. Besides, I'm good for business, lol
  18. Just got home from work. Back up to 2 games in the L column
  19. He can work a walk! He's an upgrade on all fronts over Overbay. Don't even pretend like that isn't the case
  20. Still in first my friends. We get tonight off then get 3 against the Rays, which will be tough. But we get 4 vs the lowly Mets before we take your asses to task in the Bronx. Tex might be back for the Red Sox series.
  21. And the same ones have the Yankees selecting... Kaminsky, Chris Anderson, and Billy McKinney or Bickford, Blair, and Boldt or Biggio, Anderson, and Ziomek
  22. The most recent ones have the sox taking Frazier, Manaea, or Kohl Stewart

  24. So you guys think that Cliff Lee will come for free because he makes a boatload of money? Lol, the Phillies will have someone eat his whole salary and send legit prospects. I guarantee it. The guy is still an ace
  25. It's still alive and good. The sox are still losing
