  1. Ball didn't develop as the sox had hoped. He had a big arm, but he seems to have lost his power. Last I heard, he was topping out low 90s. If he's low 90s with that frame and his complete lack of command, he isn't making the majors
  2. Another f***ing wild pitch. Sanchez has really been pretty rough this year at blocking balls. He put on a bunch of muscle in the offseason and he is no longer flexible. He has to lose that weight again
  3. He's got the same problem Xander has. He cannot pick up sliders, so he is now susceptible to high cheese while he looks for the slider
  4. No he cannot. To be fair, recognition of a slider is typically what ends a lot of baseball dreams (including mine). That being said, he's a lot better than this
  5. Bogey has become an easy out. Teams clearly think they can plan for him
  6. Austin is a good hitter. He just cannot stay healthy
  7. Does anyone find it ironic that they're wearing white wristbands for the umpire who is suing the MLB for racial discrimination? I think MLB agreed with Kinsler
  8. My guess is that he's dealing with a tear. That being said, if he pitches into the playoffs and has surgery or he has it now, isn't that much different. The return time is typically 12-14 months with a return to effectiveness around 18 months. If he goes under the knife now, he's still likely out all of 2018 and if he goes under the knife in October, he should be fully back to himself by April 2019. I get his determination to pitch through it, but you can hurt other things if you favor a bad elbow
  9. And we are flailing again
  10. We get out of this, I am confident we can close it out.
  11. You never know. Kershaw missed a month with his. All depends on his recovery. If he's back to normal in a few days, then he'll miss one start. If he is still really sore in a few days, they'll do some more imaging
  12. The sox' bridge has been great this year, but they lack a track record. And one of the things that has made them great is the length from the rotation. Boston has the 5th fewest relief innings pitched in all of baseball. Losing Price and keeping Fister in the rotation doesn't help that. My anticipation is that the bridge will show its warts the more its used, and with the long season waring down and Price and Pom looking at absences (Price's probably for the duration), you'll see some frustration from the middle and some extended outings from your closer My apologies, this is also in the game thread, but I placed it in the wrong place

  14. Price said something about a tear in his elbow. He continues to have stiffness in the elbow after throwing. He has been a shell of himself save a 7 game stretch prior to his recent return to the DL. He needs to have it looked at surgically.
  15. Gotta get this 6th run home. Gonna need a big lead for Chap
  16. I just took a s*** and came back to commercials. What happened?
  17. If he gets TJS, he misses all of 2018. He should be ok for 2019 from the beginning
  18. Price has renewed stiffness in his elbow and will be shut down indefinitely. Farrell hasn't closed the window on 2017, but admits that he is running out of time.
  19. I love Tom Yawkey. His pig headed racism likely added a few titles to the Yankees coffers.
  20. You'd have to fellate the owner... who will be Jeter.
  21. Well, you could be Mike Matheny who gives up on his closer with a one run lead and a guy on first. Rosenthal deserved to close that out. Mixing and matching late left last years MVP runner up walking off vs a far inferior pitcher
  22. Jude is starting to break out again. Castro should be back soon. Our lineup is starting to get back in shape.
  23. Chapman's location has been off. You can throw 103, but if you split the middle, you're getting tagged
  24. Stanton's contract got through waivers and with new ownership coming on, he's not getting dealt.
