  1. Lin is being activated and Erasmo is being DFA’d
  2. You need 5 guys rolling in a lineup to stay a consistent force. Right now, we don’t have 5 MLB quality hitters in the lineup, let alone guys who are rolling. Within 2 weeks we should see Stanton, Sanchez and Andujar’s bats back in the lineup with Hicks not too far off. We need to survive the peaks and valleys in the interim
  3. Can we get our real team back? Wow, this offense sucks
  4. German throwing well, but the Railriders are having trouble with the ghost of Homer Bailey.
  5. If a guy is universally panned as a defensive 3b, what makes you think he will be passable at 2b? This is like the Brewers trying to use Shaw at 2b to disastrous results. Or us moving Andujar to 2b.
  6. This is all fantasy. The time value of money makes that a stupid decision financially. He took less than market value to get a longer contract and stay in Boston. He’s earned his contract already. The Sox don’t have the cap space to play funny games with his contract, like change the final two years into a single year with all the guaranteed money or attach an option that would never vest and shift the $25 mil to the 2020 tax ledger. It benefits nobody for them to do that. What’s going to happen is this. Pedey is going to get evaluated, either get surgery or rehab and try one more time. If it doesn’t get better, he will effectively be relegated to the 60 day DL
  7. And Xander was extended. Porcello isn’t returning
  8. Pedey isn’t retiring. Meche and Dempster were still physically able to play, they just didn’t want to. Guys like David Wright and Fielder have injuries that preclude them from playing again. Those guys either get carried through the offseason and placed on the 60 day DL or they get bought out once they cannot play anymore. The Sox don’t insure their contracts, last I checked, so they would have no issue cutting Pedey and he will collect without housing a roster spot through the winter. The problems with Fielder and Wright were that their contracts were insured and they couldn’t be cut until the insurance company and the team settled. It’s the same with the Yanks. We’d have cut Ellsbury by now, but his contract is insured. Holding him on the sidelines saved the team $20 mil a year.
  9. the one good thing about the injuries is it gave Frazier some run and he’s leading the team in RBI. He’s finally figured out his issues in the bigs. It was all about pitch selection. Even with Gardy’s heroics, if things continue up to when we get healthy, there’s a good chance Gardner finds his way to the pine
  10. When your window is about to close and your minor league system is brimming with s***, you cannot punt a year. If the sox suck into July and they become sellers, they might re-stock, but it will take awhile to reach the mountaintop again
  11. You are the worst team in the AL
  12. Stanton won an MVP after that and was worth 4WAR last year. His contract has been widely considered a steal for the Yankees. So....yeah, you're wrong with that. We had Andujar and Torres last year too. You're just being pissy. Take a Midol, open some ice cream, put on a chick flick and have a good cry
  13. You don't dump Nunez when you worry, rightly so, about the stability of Pedroia's knee.
  14. Chavis is a butcher in the field and the fact that he's at 2b in the minors is desperation more than progress. He is a poor man's 3b and likely more a 1b long term
  15. Stanton hit off a pitching machine today and will progress to live BP tomorrow. Is possible to return next week. Hicks has progressed to batting practice and is a week away from a rehab assignment. Likely to return early May Andujar is swinging at "50%" with no issues. He's made throws from 60 feet with no issues. No timetable as of yet Sanchez is running and should be back come Sunday Severino is prohibited from throwing a baseball for another 5 weeks. Estimated to return in July at some point. Tulo ran on the field and took BP. He may progress to a rehab assignment soon. Looks like a late April or early May return We are working towards getting healthy
  16. He's now your starting 2b. Holt had a setback and Pedey is probably ready to retire
  17. Really just wimped out on that one to Moreland. Ottavino vs Nunez. Need a big pitch here
  18. You're just being pissy. Stanton isn't honest? Andujar? Torres? Have a snickers
  19. This is a big out to get here.
  20. Last I saw, the sox are playing on the same field
  21. First pitch to Betts was called a ball, but has been a strike all game. Not sure which game you're watching, this guy has been inconsistent with everyone and has definitely hosed us on a few occasions
  22. You cannot stand the park, but I am sure you are taking the 2 runs you got from Vasquez' gift homer. Gardner plates three with a triple in Fenway. Vasquez' ball is caught
