  1. My assessment isn't an indictment on whether he should be kept or not. It is that he lost the release point of his breaking ball. He has clearly not been the same innings eater he was before and some of it is due to the regression of his arsenal. It doesn't mean he cannot find it again. The one thing that has impressed me today is that he has gone up in the zone with a 91mph fastball and guys are swinging at it like its 98
  2. That's a homer in most parks
  3. I agree. But at least Leon gave you a chance to let Porcello beat the team you are playing. Sometimes you need to be happy that some teams aren't trying to win
  4. If I am WTF, I send out Rick for the 5th and tell him before the inning that he's done after 5. Leave it out there, have him leave with the win pending and be happy you got 5 out of him
  5. She wants to watch 50 shades of grey and its a romantic film of boundaries and dominance. You want to watch brazzers and you're a pig. Same thing
  6. Leon actually is doing a REALLY good job with him today. No, Rick isn't gonna give you length, but he isn't letting Rick throw cement mixer after cement mixer and let the Tigers come back. After the HR, he only had Rick throw the breaking ball well outside the zone as a look.
  7. If there was a book on women, they would just throw it at us.
  8. Why thank you. I think everyone is on board with my assessment tonight. Some initially resisted, but it's really apparent. He has absolutely no command or consistency with his breaking ball release point. He is either releasing it too high and having it drop into the hitting zone or slinging it from the side and getting no drop to it. He needs to be better than this. I've watched this start and the Yankees start and he is clearly better with his FB and change command today, but he has to find that breaking ball to be good against good lineups. If the sox use him as I expect them to coming out of the break, he will start the 3rd game of the second half against the Dodgers. If the sox stay on schedule (they have 34 games in 34 days, 1 off day, 1 DHer vs NYY), Porcello will face: LAD-BAL-TB-TB-NYY. He and Levangie need to get together during the break and get that release point right
  9. hanging breaking ball again.
  10. He literally had to fight off his teammates to get to the bat rack
  11. He has found the release point now. He should roll from here
  12. The ball to Reyes should have been murdered, then he breaks out the yacker vs Castellanos
  13. Is it weird that the Tigers are lucky to only be down 5 after 3? A sweet 15ERA and they're lucky
  14. Mookie tried to murder the 3b.
  15. I remember the old RBI baseball on Nintendo. When you put a position player in to pitch, all of his selections were "FAT". That is all Zim has
  16. I have no idea why Gardenhire is sticking with him. Then again, Ron is a horrendous manager
  17. The sheer force of the bat to ball impact is weakening his body.
  18. The Yanks game, everything leaked middle. His 2 seamer didn't break, his change sat middle and his slider spun. Today, he is getting good movement on the change, the Tigers cannot seem to square up the 2 seamer, but he is still hit or miss with the slider. And when he is amiss with the slider, he is "slinging it" and getting around the ball which creates the cement mixer slider that has some lateral movement but no depth. ie, a homerball
  19. Not this year. He's averaging 5.5 innings per start
  20. The sox are missing nothing. They might as well put a Juggs machine out there
  21. Watch the pitch selection. He was intentionally avoiding the breaking ball. He needs the slider to be good to be effective. He has two pitches that have the same movement with the 2 seam and the change. You can get through the lineup one time with that, but you have to change the eye level and you have to offer something that counters the break of the pitches you are using. Because he couldn't trust the breaking ball, he was living fastball up and change down, but he doesn't have the cheese to put guys away up.
  22. There is the slider. He was on top of that one
  23. He has a good release of the two seamer. He is really throwing his change well. He cannot find the release on the curve. He can still beat this awful lineup without the breaking ball
