  1. one other thing. Abreu's AVG has been .286 or higher for 9 straight yrs, .297 or higher 7 out of the last 9 seasons and he has a career AVG of .302. Drew has surpassed .300 once and has a career avg of .286.
  2. Abreu has played 150+ games for 9 consecutive seasons. He has stolen 30+ bases the past 3 seasons. Last season was the first season that he did not surpass 20HR since 98, yet his torrid pace as a yankee would have had him hitting about 25 (he was poor in philly to start). Abreu's OBP is 20 points higher in his career. Their slugging is almost exactly the same (Drew +7 points career). Abreu has surpassed 100RBI for the past 4 seasons. Drew reached 100 for the first time last yr. I would say the OBP, the steals, the RBI and the durability make Abreu the much better player.
  3. no backup plan and 4 question marks. The only guy who isnt a ? is Wakefield who, if he stays healthy, will be .500 and have over 200IP.
  4. supply and demand my friend. Gagne is the class of what is left and a TON of teams are in need of relief.
  5. they will be competitive even if they didnt make these moves. Thing is, the rotation is a major league ??? no matter what they do and leaning on them further because of a poor bullpen is a recipe for disaster.
  6. I am no sox fan, but I am surely not a cocksucking dodgers fan. Enjoy the smog.
  7. no, I am doing to you what you have done to fred. Scumbag.
  8. Cash ate a lot of crow on that one. It was a horrible idea to let him go.
  9. Abreu is the much better player, he will steal more bases and stay on the field. Overall. Posada> Tek right now ??? vs Youkilis, who knows. If it is Hillenbrand then I see that as a wash Cano vs Pedroia Cano ARod vs Lowell ARod Jeter vs Lugo Jeter Matsui vs Manny Manny all the way Damon vs Cocout Damon Abreu vs Drew Abreu Giambi vs Ortiz Ortiz by a mile. but as we all know, it isnt 1 vs 1, it is how the lineup meshes.
  10. .765 career high OPS 2 yrs ago. Looks like a guy who will likely hit .280, have an OBP of .350 and steal 20 bases if Francona lets him steal. Not a bad leadoff guy.
  11. actually, Charlie Steiner, the broadcaster in LA, says that a big knock on him is that he takes way too many 3rd strikes. His patience is a detriment at times.
  12. ESPN News is reporting 4yrs 36 mil and it is a done deal.
  13. changing the subject. Good tactic f***face.
  14. vs Coco? Dont forget, the sox had to give away a few guys to get Cocout while Damon was on the team already.
  15. Donnelly is a guy who will net the angels something significant. He is a reliable power arm in the pen. There are a ton of teams that would love to have him.
