  1. 7yrs 126 mil. WOW. Still, He might be the next 200 mil man and it may be from Texas.
  2. Have you been keeping up at all? Pedroia will be the 2b.
  3. Skip Bayless is a retard if he truly thinks he will have an era a half a run better than Roy Halladay. 16-18 wins in Boston is going to be tough without a bullpen and a 3.3 era in the ALE would be magical. I think that is his peak, and in 2-3 yrs, I would not be surprised if those are his numbers, 16-18 wins and 3.3 era, but at no point do I see him dropping below 3 in this day and age. Excuse me while I go vomit.
  4. I think the yankees lure on Igawa was his age and that fact that he is a lefty. In 2 yrs, Johnson, Pettitte, and Mussina will be history. Wang will still be in NY god willing, Hughes, and Sanchez may be in the rotation, Clippard possibly, maybe Joba, who knows. Maybe Zambrano or Sheets or whomever. But a left handed pitcher of that age is hard to come by and since the yankees have no interest in Zito, it works for them to have a young lefty who could be a durable back end of the rotation guy. Now, no other team could harbor him in AAA after the posting fee, but that is why it is good to be a yankee.
  5. consider him a younger version of Kevin Brown circa 2005.
  6. RSR, this effectively removes the sox as contenders for Clemens. They now have 5 starters and if Matsuzaka lives up to his billing, then it will be serviceable to say the least and spectacular if all the balls bounce in the right direction. This move essentially makes Clemens a Yankee in my opinion. I think Houston has moved on and the yankees are pondering putting Igawa in AAA for a season to get his legs under him. They may start the season with Pavano in the rotation, dump him once he shows his arm doesnt fall off after throwing a pitch and insert clemens with 2/3 of the season to go.
  7. dont lie now ORS, its now your homepage and in between classes or at work or whatever you do, you know you are sneaking a peek making sure the plane makes it safe and sound. You may be hoping that they show a little dot dropping from the plane to the ground below though, you know, when they throw Boras off the plane.
  8. barajas will get a starting gig somewhere. Hall, probably not.
  9. I must say, good job today guys. Most of the predictions are very reasonable. I havent seen one 20+ win or sub 3 era on here. SOLID work.
  10. 3.89 era puts him in with the league leaders. I can see him having a rough first half and settling in later.
  11. I am not predicting the sox offense to be as good as you may think. Also, I expect that pen to paint Matsuzaka with some runs that he may not have earned. Overall, I think Matsuzaka's individual performance will be rather good, but I think his team derived stats will be hurt in yr 1.
  12. you guys are insane, lol.
  13. I still think Boras challenges the posting system even though dmat is a sock now.
  14. I think I predicted 14-10 4.10 era in just under 200 innings pitched as I expect the sox to handle him with kid gloves in yr 1.
  15. If it is 6yrs 66mil, then yes they did well. Good move for the sox. The kid can definitely pitch.
  16. WMP in CF will kill the red sox. At least you can somewhat hide him in the corner OF, but imagine him playing in yankee stadium with Manny being Manny in LF and a shot hit into the gap. He is a terrible outfielder. Putting him in CF next to another terrible OFer and a guy who may only play 100 games is not good business for a team that stresses defense as important.
  17. I wouldnt be jazzed about it either, but he does have 1 yr stopgap tattoed on his forehead. If you could package Coco with maybe Wily Mo and nab a decent closer, then he could be a decent gamble for one season.
  18. 6 66mil sounds like the counteroffer. I cannot even fathom why the sox would offer 6-48. That is barely Jason Marquis money. If I was considered as the best pitcher in the market where some guys were 16mil a yr players, I'd urinate on that offer, go back to Japan for 2 yrs and come back to make over double that. The sox do not know what they are doing.
  19. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2006/12/13/team_had_to_know_how_game_is_played/?page=1 Bob Ryan is throwing the sox under the bus. Looks like the globe can only take so much spin.
  20. the thing is bosox, unlike the red sox, everytime the sox make a pre-emptive strike and nab a player the yankees have tabbed for obtaining, there is a reactive move. That seems to lessen the blow significantly. The other way around cannot always be said. At the same time, the yankees were dealing from a loaded deck in the late 90s and have had just a little more ever since as far as getting the division.
  21. That would take the total to 6yrs 117mil when you count everything in. The sox are looking more at 6yrs 99mil.
  22. I see your point. I'll try to work on it.
  23. agree 100% ORS. Hollins would be a nice little stop gap for you guys. Plus, he owns the yankees it seems.
  24. I completely agree. Anything Boras does will have to be on the state side.
