  1. OSU is one of my final four teams, but I have them losing in the final four. How many people have OSU winning it all?
  2. this is one hell of a f***ing game. Oden just planted Cage. This game is over. Bye Bye OSU. Thad Motta should be fired. The fact that Oden was not the focal point of the offense underneath is beyond assinine.
  3. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/redSox/?p=924 He will throw in 3-4 days and may be ready by opening day.
  4. seabeach, hitters are usually behind the pitchers during ST. That is why command and stuff are more important than results at this point. If you are worried about Manny and Papi, you should take a chill pill.
  5. It is just nice to see this guy back in yankee colors. But his stuff looks good.
  6. Xavier is giving the buckeyes all they can handle and more.
  7. his elbow is fine. He led the league in starts over the past 2 yrs. He'll hold up.
  8. His control has been poor, which goes against his career stats. He is striking a lot of batters out though, which means he has some solid stuff. Thing is, he may be trying to nibble rather than pitch. He has big league stuff, but he hasnt put it together yet.
  9. Has anyone seen Pettitte these days? His fastball is a notch slower than it was when he was here before (sitting right around 90-91 now when he was a 92-94 guy when he left), but his curveball is much better and his changeup has emerged. To go along with his already solid cutter, he has 4 damn good pitches. He doesnt have the heat he used to, but he is a better pitcher right now and it should be nice to have Andy in this rotation. He is damn near untouchable right now.
  10. Igawa was not average in Japan. He was league MVP once and was the strikeout king twice. Just because he has an average fastball does not mean his stats are average.
  11. Ohka>Igawa? We shall see. Ohka blows and if you are right, Igawa will blow harder. I hope you are wrong.
  12. OAK has who, Blanton, Harden and Haren. Harden is never on the field, so the combo of Blanton and Haren does not beat out the top 3 the yankees have. Toronto lost Lilly from a rotation that was about the same as the yankees last yr and filled it with Ohka. MIN has the propensity to have Ramon Ortiz and Sidney Ponson in their rotation.
  13. f*** the NL is what I say. In the AL, right NOW, I gotta say DET ANA BOS CLE CWS NYY OAK SEA TOR TEX MIN BAL KC TB
  14. my predictions actually were right about half the time. That leaves a ton of leeway on either side. But when I was wrong, jesus christmas I was WRONG. Yeah, I called Papi a fluke mid 2004 when he was coming off the best yr of his life to that point in 03 and started well in 04. WRONG. What other doozies did I have? Maybe that RJ would win 24 games. WRONG. Pavano having 17 wins. MAYBE FOR HIS YANKEE CAREER BUT WRONG. I was pretty much spot on last yr with the offensive predictions sans the injuries to Matsui and Sheff. But the one thing I havent been wrong on since I started posting was that the yankees would win the ALE. They won then and they will win now. And if you remember VA, I NEVER made a prediction about the 04 series cause I didnt have faith that they could handle the two headed monster in Schilling and Pedro.
  15. the funniest thing is, in about 5 yrs we will ALL be rooting for ARod to break Bonds record because its better to have a fair play pussy with the title than a cheating ******* with it.
  16. someone drank the punch today, lol. The point is, if Pineiro hasnt regained his high 90s heat, then he wont be that effective. If he has regained his high 90s heat, then he needs to regain that bite on what was one of the dirtiest curves in the game. If he can regain his two plus plus pitches, then he will be fine. But to this point, I have heard he is sitting in the low 90s (90-91) and I havent heard anything about his curve. You guys would have said something about it if it was back to vintage. Cause back in the day, it was dynamite.
  17. an OF of Manny, Pena and DL Drew would be f***ing hilarious. Imagine Drew and WMP colliding on a flyball in the RCF gap. Drew would be on the DL with "death".
  18. Lidge is a headcase, and a closer being a headcase is bad news. If you have to pick a guy, go for Cordero.
  19. Tavarez inspires confidence immediately after being named the closer. Fantastic
  20. I think anyone can snag Lidge right about now. He is so totally f***ed in the head that he should be free.
  21. He was nasty in HS though. What an arm from the OF. The SOB gunned me down trying to stretch a double.
  22. not too shabby. I used to enjoy the chicken fajita ones.
  23. If Romero comes in to face Monkeybitch, you can expect to see Melky or Phelps. But yeah, 5 of the lineup will not be pinch hit for, then again, Matsui hits better against lefties and the others hit lefties rather well aside from Giambi. He is the only lefty (from memory) who is dismal against lefties out of the bunch.
